The Medal Play Golf Tour Opens 3rd Season in November With FREE Membership Offer !

The tour is offering all new and existing members a special membership offer to start the 2012 season. Palm Springs, CA September 21, 2011 -- The Medal Play Golf Tour is ready to begi n its 3rd season in the Palm Springs/ Inland Empire/ Temecula, CA area and 2nd s eason in the Phoenix, AZ area under the direction of veteran tour director Blane Freytag. The tour, which provides amateurs the experience of competitive stroke -play golf, will host a local schedule in each area that kicks off in November a nd will finish on September 8th - 9th with the Tour Championship at Temecula Cre ek Inn in Temecula, CA. Players from both tours will compete for the title of To ur Champion in each division at this season ending event! The tour is offering all new and existing members a special membership offer to start the 2012 season. Any player who participates in any of our events on eithe r tour during November or December will earn a free membership for the 2012 seas on. After the December events membership will be a nominal $59 for the season. Its our way of thanking our current members for helping us get established, as well as an opportunity to grow the tour by allowing interested players to try an eve nt without any financial commitment said tour director Blane Freytag. The tour al so plans to continue its program of free memberships for Active Duty Military th roughout the 2012 season. Now amateurs can play a tour just like the pros, without the travel, added Freytag Our events are held locally on weekends, perfect for the average golfer. Our goa l is to provide fun, fair, competitive individual stroke play golf tournaments u tilizing NET scoring (using your MPGT Tournament Handicap) to level the playing field. Everyone has an equal shot in our tournaments. The Medal Play Golf Tour is for amateurs of all ages and abilities. Members are placed in one of three (3) divisions based on handicap. Divisions are: Championship Division (0-7.9 handica p), Gold Division (8-15.9), Silver Division (16+). Tournament format is individual net stroke play, with USGA rules in effect. A so ftware program and web page tracks each players tour handicap to ensure participa nts are placed in their proper division. Player tour handicaps will be monitored throughout the season to field the most competitive divisions possible. We have a unique anti-sandbagging system to weed out the baggers added Freytag. At each event, the top golfers in all divisions win Visa gift cards from the pri ze pool that is generated in each division. All participants also earn points to ward Player of the Year honors in their division. A Fed Ex style playoff covering the final events adds to the excitement! Entry fees for the Medal Play Golf Tour are individually priced. Those fees incl ude green fees, shared use of a cart, range balls, prize pool, scoring and troph ies. There will also be optional skins games and an optional par 3 cash pot at e ach event. Trophies will also be up for grabs for the winners of each division.
