Reflection paper: Therese Movie

The movie is all about the life of an ordinary girl whose heart is to serve God. This is the story of Saint Therese of Lisieux. As young as she was her faith and love for God is enormous. She showed that being young is not a hindrance to serve God. God looks at the heart of people and not on how old you are or how smart you are or how beautiful you are. As it is written in Bible in 2 timothy 4:12 Let no one despise you for your youth but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. It means that as young as we are, we can serve God in our own ways. Saint Therese of Lisieux also shows the character of being optimistic. She does always laugh and smile because she sees every event in her life positively. We must learn to be optimistic too. We need to see every event in our life positively. Everything happens for a reason. So if there are good things happens to us, we must not forget to thank God and if there are bad things happen to us, we must seek help to Him and for sure He will listen to us. We need to remember that God is sovereign so every second is in His control. Problems are just a way of God to tests us for us to mature. God will not give us tests that He knows we cannot survive. Like Saint Therese of Lisieux, even though she is in pain, she still showed her faith to God. We dont need to be priest or nuns to serve God. All we need to do is that everything we do, big or small things, is for the Glory of God. God sees the heart of people. He knows if we are sincere or not in serving Him. Saint Therese of Lisieux never complained to God. Like her, we should never complain to God. Who are we to tell Him what to do and what not to do? In the first place God is the one who created us Human. He is the one that gives our lives. God does not need us, He can live without us and He can live without people serving Him because God is omnipotent and omniscient, omnipresent God. But God wants us and love us. He is the God who is a loving and merciful God that is why He chose to create us. We serve God because He is our Father, Creator, Savior and Lord. Serving God is way of praising Him in everything he has done in our lives. Saint Therese of Lisieux does know these things in her heart that is why she is not afraid to serve God even though she was still young.

Saint Therese of Lisieux also showed her love for other people. She does not hesitate to help and pray for others. She helps elderly people gladly. She does it wholeheartedly. Like her, we need to learn to help and pray for others. We dont live on earth just to sit down and relax. We need to care about our surroundings. We must take an action and be an agent of change. Doing small good things change other lives. Imagine the feeling of other people thanking you because you help them. If we are indifferent about others, we can compare ourselves as if we are dead people. God commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves.
