Is access to the location suitable for the safe movement of personnel and equipment? Are there clear pathways for movement and circulation within the location? Can the location be easily evacuated in an emergency? Consider the impact that a strange location or requests can have on a normally placid animal. In safety terms a confined space is any space that is cramped, difficult to enter or exit or contains an atmosphere that is poisonous or difficult to breathe in

The law requires a thorough risk assessment to be made of such locations you MUST provide FULL details to your lecturer before proceeding. A dangerous environment is one which you know could cause you harm Exposure to noise levels above 85db(A) can result in hearing damage. At this level normal conversation is difficult at 2 metres i.e. voices need to be raised. Evening/Weekend work where there is limited/no contact with the lecturer Are you physically capable of the tasks required? Does your set or equipment present any hazards to members of the public? If shooting on or near roads please be aware that it is an offence to obstruct traffic. High visibility clothing must be considered. Is there anything likely to increase the risk of these? Consider water, oil, cables, uneven surfaces,and general clutter

Does your car insurance cover what you intend doing Will you be working in/near a vehicle. Will the vehicle be moving Are you shooting in a location that has the potential for violence or public disorder? Are your actions and presence likely to provoke violent reactions? Are you filming near the water or on it? Will life preservers be available? Do you have a contingency plan for adverse weather? Do you have protection for yourself and equipment in the event of rain or heat?
