Thought for the Week

Cast In a Line for Yourself poor, hungry man stood idly on a bridge watching some fishermen. Seeing one of them with a basket full of fish by his side, he said, "if I had a catch like that, Id be happy. Id sell it and buy some food and clothes." "Ill give you that many fish if you do a small favor for me," said the fisherman. "What do you want me to do?" came the reply. "Just tend this line a while. Ive got some business down the street." Gladly the young man accepted the offer. After the man left, the trout and bass continued snapping greedily at the baited hook. Soon he lost all his depression in the excitement of pulling in a large number of fish. When the angler returned, he said to the young man, "Ill keep my promise to you by giving you everything youve caught. And I hope youve learned a lesson. You mustnt waste time daydreaming and merely wishing for things. Instead, get busy and cast in a line for yourself."

Everyone with an interest in the Sunday School program is invited to attend. Childrens Christmas Play prep is beginning the first of October. Ben will be producing this years play again and needs a LOT of volunteers to help make this a success. Its only 90 days until Christmas! Can you believe it?!

New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday evenings to, yes, practice some songs, but also to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. We are blessed by hearing the choir, and those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday evening at 6:00. Dont forget about our Food Pantry here at New Hope. We now need to restock. Bring what you can donate next Sunday and lets keep this important ministry available. Thanks to those of you who have begun helping us re-stock by bringing items. Stephen Ministry Got a burden? New Hope people dont have to carry that burden alone. You can have a STEPHEN MINISTER who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. If you are interested in providing or receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program at New Hope, please contact the pastor through the Church office at (615) 449-7020 and request that a Stephen minister contact you. th The Outlet Youth Group - Greg (Worm) and Alene Gibson invite all 7 th through 12 grade youth to join them at The Outlet, where we get nd th teenagers plugged into Christ! Meets 2 and 4 Sunday evening of each month. Games, a devotional, pizza, just hanging out with friends. Come join us! All men in the church are invited to the Community Mens Breakfast and Bible Study, which meets here at the church every Tuesday morning from 6:00 7:00. This small group has great meaning to the men who attend and is also a way of helping some man who may not go to a church on Sundays to feel more comfortable in this relaxed, informal setting. Pictures for the Directory We want to have everyones picture in the new directory being prepared. Pictures will enhance the fellowship of the church. It will help us all to get names and faces together. Gina Jones, our photographer, will be taking pictures after church this Sunday. The pictures will be taken in the classroom across from the childrens Creation Station room.
