Non-elected experience (committees, boards, etc.): I have over 20 years of accounting experience in both private and government fund accounting. I have been assisting the current Newbury Township Fiscal Officer for the last 3 years. I have been processing the accounts payable, payroll, payroll taxes, OPERS, purchase orders, 1099s and W-2s. I have been assisting with the yearend close, appropriations, and budgets. I am familiar with the complete budget and appropriation cycle of the Township. I have been trained by the State of Ohio in the UAN Accounting system used by Newbury Township and, after more than 3 years, I am very experienced and comfortable using it. I am ready and trained to handle all aspects of this office from day one.

Should you be elected, what are three specific areas you'd like to change, address, improve or further research, and how specifically would you go about it? 1. The most important thing is to keep the Township within budget as the State reduces and eliminates payments to local governments. This can be accomplished by constantly keeping the Trustees up to date on changing finances and reductions of receipts as the Fiscal Officer learns about them. 2. Also, I would like to improve and continue to find ways to save money over the year. 3. I would also like to get to know all of the other Fiscal Officers in the other townships, to share ideas and listen to theirs. Many of the townships are facing many of the same problems. Sharing ideas that work can help everyone.

Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you? I am the most experienced candidate for this office. I have worked with the current Fiscal Officer for 3 years. I will keep the Township fiscally responsible just as the current Fiscal Officer has done. I will help the Board of Trustees to find ways to stay within the budget and not ask taxpayers for more taxes. Like my predecessor, I will be proactive, rather than reactive.
