The Metrobank Foundation in partnership with the United Architects of the
Philippines, Philippine Institute of Interior Designers, Federal Land and BluPrint, is
inviting all registered architects aging from 25 to 45 years old to join the Metrobank
Art & Design Excellence (MADE) National Competition in Architecture.

Entries should be built structures of single detached residence in the

Philippines, completed and occupied for at least one year. Each participant can
submit a maximum of two (2) entries that is the architect’s original design and has
not been submitted in any other competition or received any award from any
national or international design competition. The winner will receive a cash prize
of 150,000 pesos during the Awarding Ceremonies and Exhibit in September.

Submission of entries starts April until May 26, 2006 at the UAP National
Secretariat, 5/f, #53 Scout Rallos St., Bgy. Laging Handa, Diliman, Quezon City. For
queries call 898.8856 (Metrobank Foundation) or 412.6403 (UAP). Entry forms are
available in all Metrobank branches, UAP Chapter Offices and UAP National
Secretariat.

MADE Architecture Competition kicked off during the celebration of The

Nationwide Architecture Week held at MC Home Depot at the Fort where the
Foundation joined the Kick-off ceremony and the Exhibit. The Exhibit featured
MADE’s first winning works in architecture and interior design that were done by
Arch. Noel Tan and Marybeth Tabaquin-Ting, respectively.

The Metrobank Foundation also took the occasion to formalize its second
year of partnership with the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) with the
signing of a new MOA. Present from UAP were Architects Edric Marco Florentino
(national president), Celia Dizon, Elena Cayanan, Carmencita Rosales, Ana Ling, and
Nora Dumlao. The Metrobank Foundation, on the other hand, was represented by
its president, Placido L. Mapa, Jr., executive vice-president Elvira Ong-Chan,
executive vice-president and executive director Aniceto M. Sobrepeña and assistant
executive director Nicanor L. Torres Jr.

MADE is formerly known as the Young Painters’ Annual, which was established
by the Foundation in 1984. The new competition represents a big leap in corporate
art sponsorship by opening new opportunities for artistic recognition and thus
help enhance the careers of talented and promising painters, sculptors, architects
and interior designers.
