The CEO/President will accompany the principal, observing daily interaction with staff,
parents, students and the school community. Principals for a Day are encouraged to
actively participate in the day, asking questions and sharing observations of events.
Participants in the Principal for a Day program must be members in good standing of
the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber began accepting applications on August 1st for the Leadership
Cherokee Class of 2012. Sponsored each year by the Chamber, Leadership
Cherokee boasts more than 440 graduates since the programs inception in
1987. Leadership Cherokee produces experienced leaders for business, civic
and political roles in our community, stated Ben Looper, President of Southeast Restoration Group and 2011 Chamber Chair.
Monthly programs for the Leadership Cherokee Class of 2012 will include a
variety of topics such as education, justice, infrastructure, public safety, healthcare, and city/county/state government. A community service project will also
be integrated into the program, said Jeff Rusbridge, Dyer & Rusbridge, P.C.,
who is the Incoming Chair of the 2012 Leadership Cherokee Steering Committee.
Nominations for the prestigious Leadership Cherokee program will be accepted through October 1st. Following an application and interview process, the
class which varies in size each year - will be chosen in November. Cost for
this nine-month program that begins in January 2012 and concludes in September 2012, is $675 for Chamber members and $825 for non-members. The fee
includes a one-year individual Chamber membership for non-members.
