Black & White Conversion

and Image desaturation
More control on B&W conversions
and image desaturation

Photoshop's desaturation and grayscale features don't always produce the

vivid effect we are looking for. This action makes use of a more advanced
technique and gives you more control over the look of the final image.

A. Decompressing and loading the effect files

If you don't know how to install these files in Photoshop please click
HERE.

B. Running the effect

Open an image. Avoid working on lower compression JPGs (I recommend
working on 16 -bits images). Run the action. A duplicate of the original
image will be created.

Open an image. Avoid working on lower compression JPGs (I recommend
working on 16 -bits images). Run the action. A duplicate of the original
image will be created.

You will be prompted to change the "Pin Light" blending mode in the
Calculations window (the 'Pin Light' blending mode produces a neutral
effect similar to Photoshop's grayscale).
Deploy the mask options and manipulate the mode of the 3 channels. Try
not to pick a channel that increases the overall image noise. In addition,
you can fine tune the overall effect by changing the opacity, in the
Calculations window.

Finally, when the action finishes you can adjust the opacity of the "BW
layer" from 100% to 0% to manipulate the degree of desaturation.

The actions are designed to work in both Windows and MacOS platforms.
You will need:
1. Photoshop 6 or higher
2. An application (such as Winzip or WinRAR) that decompresses zip files.
