Younger swimmers leave their mark

Some of the Blackall Amateur Swimming Associations younger members left their mark in the record books when the club wrapped up its 2006/07 season with the staging of its annual championships on Sunday, March 25. Wade Kangan and Quinne Carolan set new records for 6 & under 15 metre boys and girls butterfly and breaststroke events. Over 30 swimmers competed in individual age group events, culminating in the running of the WH Hart Memorial open 100 metre freestyle event. Natalie Dendle won the female event in a time of 1:09.43 and Kyle Richardson took out the male event with a time of 1:03.69. Natalie broke a pool/club record in the 13 year girls 50 metre freestyle with a time of 31.62. The clubs presentation dinner will be held on April 14, when the season points winners and other awards will be announced.

Show schedules on the street

The schedule for the 2007 Blackall Show and State Sheep Show is now in circulation in the community so that exhibitors can lay their hands on a copy and decide what they would like to take part in. Pavilion steward Margaret Adams is especially keen to see competitors thumbing the pages of the craft sections and creating entries for these areas. She warns that if people dont use it theyll lose it, referring to the drop in entries in the craft pavilion over recent years. Its going to get harder to keep the pavilion open, she said. Ive noticed a real drop off in handicrafts such as knitting and crocheting, and find that its the same people doing it time after time. I guess this shows that its cheaper to buy things in shops nowadays than to make them, and trends just change. Margaret said that as well as asking people to step forward to support the craft pavilion, new ideas were desperately required. We need to involve the next generation, she said. Its really a case of Blackall people saying to themselves, Its our show, we are the ones who can keep it going, Margaret added. People should start thinking of the future. She said a couple of new items had been added, in the jewellery section and for jigsaws.

Blackall swimmers at state school titles

Blackall swimmers Jamee Johnson and Natalie Dendle recently competed for the North West region at primary and secondary school swimming championships. Jamee competed in the 1012 years championships at the Caloundra Aquatic Lifestyle Centre from March 28-30 while Natalie took part in the 13-19 years championships staged at the Chandler Aquatic Centre in Brisbane. Jamee and the six other swimmers in the North West team, some of whom flew in from Mt Isa and Normanton, competed against 600 other athletes. She was given the opportunity on the first day of competition to join a combined region relay team Page 20 - The Barcoo Independent, Friday, April 6, 2007

and swam in the 4 x 50m freestyle relay and the 4 x 50m medley relay. The next day she competed in the 10 yr girls backstroke event and on the following day swam in a 50m individual freestyle event. Although none of the North West team members successfully made it through to a final, Jamees mother and Blackall swim club carnival secretary Zoe Johnson said much experience had been gained in semi-electronic timing, having four referees on the pool deck, and having a separate warm-up and warm-down pool. Natalie undertook a massive workload of eight events when she competed with 700 other athletes in Brisbane. Her events included 50m butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle, 100m butterfly, freestyle and backstroke, 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley. She finished the meet with three personal best times, in the 200m IM, 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle. Natalie competed at the club state titles in Brisbane last December but didnt have so many swims at that meet.

Elmy shoots well at pistol club

The Blackall Pistol Club hosted the remaining half of the Keith Hayward Memorial shoot last Sunday with centre fire and sports pistol pairs events. Glady Hayward and family again sponsored the event and presented the trophies. Arthur Elmy made a clean sweep of the events, winning the centre fire with partner Ross Allen on a score of 866. Runners-up Bruce McPaul and Aub Carter had a score of 850. Noelene Gleeson and partner Spencer Astill with a score of 834 won the sports pistol event, while Peter Molle and Matthew Allen were runners up on 743. Other scores were: Kahem Elmy and Helen Allen 722, and Dallas Kowald-Dawson and Lloyd Marsh 629. Peter Molle was Mr Consistency, shooting an excellent 516 in the sports event. The next official shoot will be the Roger and Gayle Ellison rapid fire event to be held on April 22 at 9 am.

Four people travelling in a Rockwell Commander aircraft were lucky to walk away when their plane crashed at the Blackall airport last Saturday. The accident occurred at around 9.05 am when the plane was attempting to land. According to Scott Spinks, who witnessed the incident, as the plane was just about to touch down it suddenly lifted into the air and tilted, crashing about 150 metres from the runway. A strong wind gust is being blamed for throwing the aircraft off course. The pilot, Robert Smith and his three passengers, Colin Dallas, John Dallas and Donald Smith were travelling from Mackay to Blackall for the weekend to catch up with family and friends. They were assisted from the plane by Scott, who is the nephew of two of the men, and then treated at the scene by Blackall QAS officers Frank Smith and Dave Everett.

All four men were taken to the Blackall hospital for treatment for minor lacerations and bruising, and one was treated for possible spinal injury. Blackall police sergeant Kevin Ongheen said that the four men were extremely lucky to walk away from the wreckage. The incident could have been far more serious, he said. Thankfully, there was no loss of life or damage to the airport. The incident is being investigated by constable Richard Hill who said the Department of Transport and Regional Services Australian Transport Safety Bureau had been notified of the incident and had advised that they will not be making an official inquiry. The planes wings have been bent and the motor ruined. Blackall fire chief Greg Tierney and his officers secured the area whilst leaking aviation fuel was brought under control.

Letter To The Editor

Dismissal sparks concern
Along with other concerned people in Blackall, the sacking of Neil Death by the McLean Place Respite Centre upsets me. I wish to point out the reasons why we find this matter impossible to understand or justify: Neil has been more than just an employee; he has gone the extra mile with everything he did for our elder citizens. His gentle and helpful care has been much appreciated by all those he has looked after. His cheerful manner has raised the spirits of inmates, and he has voluntarily included them in drives around the town. Neil willingly took on the heavy or difficult jobs that others would not undertake. He encouraged inmates to keep their mobility by cheering on their efforts to keep up walking and moving about. We all realize that our older or handicapped citizens need the highest possible standard of nursing care but in our opinion, Neil Death has fulfilled and exceeded the criteria of concern and dedication to the position he had at McLean Place. April Fools Day no joke for bowlers

Only one game of competition bowls was played on Sunday, April 1 in Blackall. In a good game of handicap singles between Gary Whitfield and Roy Black, both were 21-all after 23 ends. Gary gradually drew away to win 31 23. In a social game, four visitors from Canberra combined with Blackall players which resulted in Dally Holden, Marty Gray and Chris defeating Pam, Mark and Noel 24 18. In handicap singles on Sunday, March 25 John Bowyer was a bit too good for an out of condition Ross Browning. After being down 19 9 after 20 ends Ross made a charge, gaining ground to come close at 24 28, only to run out of gas and go down 31 24. In B singles Tex Hayward and Dally Holden had a nail biter of a game. Dally seemed to have the game won, leading 28 20 but a few ends later Tex hit the front 30 28. Dally then managed to score three on the next two ends to win 31 30. Roy Black and Woody met once again in A singles. Experience again proved too strong with Roy winning 31 10. Saturday, March 24 saw round one of the interclub championship being held in Blackall.

All Blackall bowlers performed well but were not quite good enough, with Barcaldine leading from Longreach then Blackall and Aramac. A great effort was made by Rob Doyle who provided lunch and smoko for 36 people. Next weeks games include the pairs final, in which J Bowyer and R Browning play T Hayward and L Kelly. In Sets of Nine M Gray is up against T Holden, spotter W Malone. Play will commence at 9 am from now on.

Angela Gardiner holding baby Charlotte Olivia gratefully received a $1000 cheque from Rotary on Friday March 31. Rotary also held a Shave for a Cure outside the Commonwealth Bank on Friday morning.

Tuesday, April 17 will see a ladies open social tennis morning get underway at the Blackall Tennis Club, running from 9 to 11.30 am. The morning is open to all, including those who would just like to have a cuppa and a chat, and all are invited to bring some morning tea to share. For those who wish to have a game there will be a ball fee of $3.

Ladies tennis morning planned

Racquets are available for those who dont have one. The tennis club grounds have a childrens playground and ample lawn areas for young ones to play on. If the morning is a success it is hoped to have ladies social tennis morning more often, perhaps even every month, so all are urged to pass the word around.

A soccer clinic and grassroots coaching session on March 2425 at the Blackall showgrounds provided physical activity and fun for the youth of Blackall. Eighteen months ago a youth survey found that soccer was a top priority for youths aged 12 to 17 years, but by the time funding was received priorities had changed for youth in that age group and it was the 5 to 16 years age group that were interested in playing soccer. Coach, David Nugent from Football Australia, travelled from Brisbane to facilitate the soccer clinic and coaching session during the weekend. Over 50 children and youths from Blackall and Tambo participated at the clinic. They learnt and developed basic physical skills to assist them with

training, playing the game and enjoying themselves. Five adults attended the Grassroots coaching clinic, which was for any person interested in being more active and wanting to assist young people to play soccer. It had a basic structure of exercises and skills to help children develop physical skills and make the game and training fun. The parents who attended the coaching are planning to hold social soccer sessions for children in the near future. Funding from Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Communities and Blackall Shire Council made the clinic and coaching session possible.

Local boys in Toowoomba league

Though missing Blackall, three local boys Matthew Schulze, David Lehmann and James Ellison have kept their spirits up by playing for the Toowoomba Valleys rugby league club. The boys have been involved in some tough training sessions and had to face three weekends of selection trials to see which teams they would play in. In his second trial match James was on the receiving end of a hard tackle from a Caboolture player which resulted in a broken collar bone. This will put him out of action for about four to six weeks, but he expects to be back playing after

Easter. Matthew and David have played three rounds of matches so far and their teams are doing well on the scoreboard. David is playing in the A grade while Matthew plays in the under 18s and moves up to A grade when required. Matthew and David have been selected to play in the City team for the under 19s and will also be going away for selection trials for the South West development squad, the Mustangs, who will be playing in Rockhampton on the May long weekend.

Kens weather predictions for Blackall Apr 7th- May 4th, 2007 (by the moon) from
Ken Ring of www.predictweather.com
Expected rain times for Blackall
45 40 35 30 25 20 15 10 5 0

This outlook period there are about three good chances of rain times. These are likely at or near April 7th, 16th/17th and May 4th. The 9th-15th and 18th-May 3rd may be drier intervals. For this period, most temperatures should stay in the upper 20s and lower 30s. The average for maximums may be around 29C and for minimums around 19C. Humidity may be about 72% on average. The barometer may rise to the highest for this period about 17th/18th, and drop to lowest about 25th-28th which is when the rains are expected. Average for barometric readings may be around 1015mbs. Looking ahead: Weather for the Blackall Show may turn showery. Allow 24 hour error for forecasts.

The vertical column for rain is in mm. The amounts are not to be taken too literally but are intended to be viewed more as trends increasing or decreasing in amount. It is the timing of the rain that is the more important part of the moon method, as amounts are more determined by prior evaporation rates, which depend more on the sun.

Dry March
The highest maximum temperature for March was on the 4th with 40 degrees, which is lower than the previous highest recorded temperature of 41.8 degrees. However, the average maximum temperature for the month of March set a new record of 35.4 degrees whcih was higher than the recorded long-term average of 33. 7. An audience numbering between 300 and 400 people saw the garden book compiled by Lindy Hardie and Rachel Noble launched at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens in Brisbane last Friday. Botanic Gardens curator Ross McKinnon conducted the official launch of Gardens Off the Beaten Track and described it as an unqualified success. Official guests included the Governor of Queensland Ms Quentin Bryce. Featuring the heart-warming stories of 32 gardeners who have created their own patch of Eden amidst the environmental challenges thrown up by western Queenslands weather, the books first print run of 2000 copies sold out at the launch. A number of the gardeners who had contributed their stories to the book travelled from as far as Cloncurry, Blackall and Quilpie to attend the evening. They mingled with the many city people in the audience who are beginning to understand the challenges of keeping a garden alive in times of severe drought. Horticultural journalist Kate

Garden book launched

Heffernan described the launch as very moving and possibly the best she had attended. I saw it as an enjoyable, serious, emotional look at outback Queensland and the role gardens have in making a harsh yet beautiful environment liveable, she said. She added that the gifting of the profits from the sale of the book to the Royal Flying Doctor Service had been a selfless act on Lindy and Rachels part. A cheque for $15,000 was presented to an RFDS representative on the evening. Rachels story of the organisations emergency flight to care for her nephew after he had crashed through a plate glass window touched all in the audience. Lindy and Rachel are now preparing for a second print run of the book. Its concept received sponsorship from a number of quarters in Blackall, including the Blackall Shire Council, Opal Creek Lotfeeders, and Stewart and Sally Campbell.

coolest night with 15.4 degrees, which was significantly higher than the previous recorded temperature of 10.1 degrees. The average minimum temperature for March was 22.3 degrees, also a lot higher than the long-term average of 19.9 degrees. The hottest night recorded was at the start of the month with 26.2 degrees. It was another dry month with only 157 points (39.8 mm) falling compared to the average of 250 points (63.6 mm).

A quiet life in the bush is not how the Blackall CWA branch sees Blackall. With the many clubs, groups and associations the town has, it is always busy with events and happenings to attend or help at. The CWAs International Womens Day cake stall was one such event the local townspeople supported. As part of the Heartland Festival in May the CWA will be holding a Fence Painting on Fabric activity at Banks Park for Under 8s Week in conjunction with the schools. This event will be free for all under 8s and all paintings will be displayed at the Heartland Art Show. The young artists will be able to collect their paintings after the show. Be on the lookout for details of this and for the schedule of the flower arranging and cookery competition on June 21. The CWA is currently seeking letters of support for a Jupiters Casino grant application which, if successful, will enable the group to undertake minor repairs to the CWA Hall as well as air-condition it and paint the exterior. It is being undertaken to give the community another venue for activities and so the group is keen to receive letters of support at PO Box 178. The CWA will hold its next meeting on Friday April 20.

The state government has just released the 2006 list of OP achievements by Queensland schools, once again ranking the Blackall State School highly. Of the number of students eligible for an OP last year, 88 per cent received a score between 1 (the highest) and 15. Eighty-six per cent received this score in 2005. The school had 44 per cent of its Year 12 students eligible for an OP. OPs, or overall position scores, provide a statewide rank order of students based on achievement in Queensland Studies Authority subjects and the Core Skills Test. They are used by universities for selecting students for courses. Blackall State School principal Bobby Harding said the school was very proud of the achievements of its Year 12 students of 2006. Many were either involved in some form of work experience program, VET program or achieved a certificate in Rural Operations through the Australian Agricultural College (Longreach

campus), he said. Seven out of eight OP eligible students scored within the 1-15 OP range. Of the 18 senior students in 2006, eight are currently in full time employment, three are doing apprenticeships which they had started whilst still at school, and five are studying at university (one in medicine at JCU, one in law at JCU, one in engineering at UQ, one student in arts at JCU and one in teaching, studying Special Education at Griffith University). All up, 94 per cent of our students from last year are proactively engaged which is a remarkable achievement for a school this size. Education Minister Rod Welford said the statewide data provided a good picture of academic and vocational achievements. The information shows there is now tremendous diversity in our schools, Mr Welford said.

Three children from the Blackall district were lucky to escape harm when the Greyhound bus they were travelling on careered out of control at Muckadilla early last Friday morning. Conan Russell and Jack and Alex Campbell were amongst the group of 38 passengers, mostly students returning home for the school holidays, who were woken at 2.45 am when the coach driver collapsed and the bus veered off the road, hitting a table drain and a road sign. Sixteen-year-old Laura Simpson from Longreach jumped out of her seat and took control of the steering wheel, bringing the bus to a stop with the assistance of the driver before narrowly missing a concrete drain. A thank-you ceremony was due to be held in Longreach on Wednesday so that Greyhound Australia could recognise the efforts taken by Laura. Sally Campbell, the mother of Alex and Jack, said her family was very grateful to Laura. Our sons are 14 and 10 and the whole thing was pretty stressful at the time, she said. Im thankful it all ended well but it has left us with some questions. One of her concerns was the length of time that the children were left alone without any adult supervision. There were a couple of hours between the time that the ambulance arrived to collect the driver and when the police arrived to assess the situation, she said. Considering there were a number of children involved, I thought the police may have been

Three from Blackall involved in bus drama

on the scene sooner. The service remained in Muckadilla for around four hours. A Greyhound Australia spokesman said it was very rare that any incident leaves the company without having the driver with the passengers. This was a set of circumstances we rarely have, he said. We overcame the problem in this instance, due to the incapacity of the driver, by sourcing a mobile number from one of the passengers and maintained contact with the passengers in this way. Local bus driver Rob Bailey, who was waiting at Charleville 220 km away to take the service on to Blackall, was the nearest company representative and he was dispatched as soon as possible to look after passengers. The coach wasnt seriously damaged and was given the all clear to continue after an inspection by a mechanic. Greyhound arranged for the coach to be changed at Morven while the passengers were having a free breakfast at the companys expense. The Greyhound spokesman said parents of the children on board were contacted, once to tell them of the incident and again to give them an updated time in regards to expected arrival times. Mrs Campbell said the first telephone contact her family had with Greyhound was a phone call at 8am, half an hour after the bus was due in at Blackall. My son had rung from the payphone at Muckadilla a few hours earlier, otherwise we would have been none the wiser, she

said. Fiona Russell, whose 11-yearold son Conan was travelling on the bus, said she had spoken to him at around 4 am but didnt hear from Greyhound until 10.30 am that morning. Mrs Campbell said the incident raised concerns for her about the efficiency of Telstras Next G network. Muckadillas less than half an hours drive from Roma, which is a big centre, but my sons Next G phone had no reception at all, she said. This could have happened along the highway with no phone booth nearby. She also thought Greyhound may need to reassess its procedures in light of the incident, bearing in mind the relative isolation it occurred in. It would be a good chance for them to ask what they can learn from this, she said. The Greyhound spokesman said the company was constantly reviewing its procedures and will do so again after it received the results of the incident from its Incident Assessment team. Mrs Campbell said she had no argument with the driver. Theyre left with a lot of responsibility and its hard for them, especially at these busy periods. Mrs Russell said she was very thankful the incident took place while the bus was passing through a town and not travelling at high speed. They were all incredibly lucky, she said.

Federal Member for Maranoa, Bruce Scott has today announced 10 successful recipients sharing in $1,289,546 of the Strengthening Drought Affected Communities Local Answers funding. Local Answers supports small scale, locally developed projects which help communities to identify opportunities to develop new skills, support children and their families and foster proactive and self-reliant communities. Mr Scott said the funding is for projects in drought affected areas declared to be under exceptional circumstances, or areas demonstrating significant hardship as a result of the drought. It is all about giving communities the power to develop their own solutions and help them to help themselves through small scale, time limited projects, Mr Scott said. The prolonged and severe drought is having a significant impact on many rural communities in the Maranoa electorate and it is important the Government has programs which can provide support for drought affected communities. This impact is not just on the hip pocket, but also in family and community networks and relationships. Many of the projects aim to provide support programs and workshops to help parents, families and adolescents cope with the impact of the drought. There are also some projects which provide skills in the areas of stress management, farm management and leadership. I congratulate all the successful grant recipients and applaud them on their initiative to help alleviate some of the pressures and hardships being experienced by many people living in drought affected communities, he said. Relationships Australia will be running Teen Connect which will be aimed at thirty young people in Longreach and Blackall. The project will engage staff to run a series of six workshops for young people covering topics including independent living and healthy functional relationships. All participants in the workshops will receive a collection of information resources.

Weaner sale success for Combined Agents

Blackall Combined Agents held another successful weaner and store sale at the Blackall saleyards on Thursday, March 29 where 1995 mostly good quality cattle were yarded. The market was firm to dearer on last weeks market, with steers selling particularly well due to stiff competition from southern and central district buyers. Cattle were drawn from Richmond, Longreach, Aramac, Barcaldine, Tambo, and Alpha/Jericho districts as well as locally. A line of predominantly Santa/Brahman x steers from David and Ann Hay, Kismet, Jericho made up to 219.2 c/kg to average 210.9c for 267.2 kg or $563/ head. Peel Northampton Downs P/L sold 30 Santa steers for an average of 210 c/kg for 260 kg. George & Jenny Bambling, Hazelmere, Aramac had 62 Braford x steers which sold for an average 196.3 c/kg for 311.7 kg or $612/head. Alice Downs P/L sold 37 Santa x steers weighing an average 228.8 kg for $492 or 215.4 c/kg. The Hays at Kismet also sold 93 Charolais heifers for an average 170.4 c/kg for 235.2 kg or $400-69. Buyers attended from Condamine, Roma, Clermont, Emerald, Dalby, Springsure and local properties. Blackall prime & store sale has been put back till the 19th april This is due to short weeks and a lack of numbers.

A special store steer sale was held at the Blackall saleyards on Thursday, March 22 when Great Southern Cattle Managers P/L and Baldy Bay P/L offered 2000 steers. The yarding was dominated by Brahman cattle, but also included four decks of Santa feeder steers. Buyers attended from Betoota, Nebo, Clermont, Condamine, Quilpie, Windorah and Blackall as well as regular buyers. The sale followed market trends seen at other selling centres this week with feeder steers topping at 179 c/kg. Those in the 220-280 kg weight range averaged 163 c/kg, topping at 178 cents and bringing $496 a head. Agents for the sale were Elders Ltd, Blackall.

Queensland farmers receiving the Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payment (ECRP) can now access a 50 per cent rebate on their shire rates, a move designed to help those in drought hit areas, AgForce president Peter Kenny said. Mr Kenny said the assistance measure was first announced by the State Government in December last year with the process for delivering the rebates finalised today. To say these rebates have been eagerly anticipated is an understatement, he said. AgForce has dealt with large numbers of calls each week from members keen to access the rebate. Mr Kenny said the rebate would be available on rates paid in the 2006-07 and 2007-08 financial years. The main criteria is that producers need to be receiving the Centrelink ECRP to access the shire rates rebate and must pay their rates in full to claim the 50 per cent rebate, he said. The rebates will be provided by QRAA, a move AgForce pushed strongly for as QRAA already deals with a large number of drought assistance measures and is the best placed government organisation to make this process as practical as possible. Mr Kenny said the rebate would only apply to the rates component of the bill and excluded any services, charges or penalties applied - for example water and waste disposal. This rebate will not only benefit producers but also their communities, he said. Studies have shown that farmers like to use their local businesses where possible so the money saved through this rebate will no doubt help keep rural communities in drought stricken areas ticking over. To apply for the rates rebate, producers can download a form from the QRAA website on www. qraa.qld.gov.au or call QRAA on 1800 623 946.

Community service Constable Richard Hill is assisting with the delivery of Meals on Wheels from McLean Place. Sergeant Kevin Ongheen said that participation in Meals on Wheels by new officers in the community ensures that citizens who would not normally come into contact with the police have the opportunity to meet them and voice any concerns of a police nature. Weapons Audits Blackall Police will continue performing checks of the weapon storage facilities of residents in the Blackall Shire. Senior Constable Brent Gerber said, The Weapons Licensing Branch has produced another list of randomly generated weapon owners for inspection. Over the course of the next year every licence holder in the Blackall shire will be subject to an inspection of the weapon storage facilities. Your cooperation during these inspections is greatly appreciated. Easter road safety Queenslanders have been urged to slow down on roads over Easter or face the consequences, with Queenslands Road Safety blitz now officially underway. Premier Peter Beattie, who joined Police Minister Judy Spence and Acting Transport Minister Desley Boyle to launch the 2007 Easter road safety campaign, said Queenslands 2007 road toll was already up on last year. The Easter period is a notoriously bad time for road accidents and too many people die needlessly at this time of year, Mr Beattie said. The governments message is simple slow down or cop the consequences. Ms Spence said it was up to all road users to change their attitude towards driving, and act responsibly on roads. Acting Minister for Transport and Main Roads Desley Boyle said driving tired was another potential killer on Queensland roads. People can avoid driving tired by planning a short stop into their trip every two hours and making use of the Driver Reviver sites operating around Queensland over Easter, she said.

Blackall to reach for the stars with Connections World of Dance

Dance sports will be a new activity for Blackall residents. Townsville based professional dance instructor Antionette Roberts will be tutoring grandparents, parents and children in Blackall to learn dance routines such as Latin American , New Vogue and Salsa. Antionette has been teaching dance sports since 1998 and has her own studio in Townsville called Connections World of Dance and their motto is reach for the stars. This will form part of a series of four dance sports activities that will be launched during the Heartland Festival from 17 - 21 May then sessions in June and July and concluding in September with a Community Ball on Saturday 8th which will be organised by the Blackall Kindergarten. There will be a special program with Blackall 60+ Better who are organising a cabaret luncheon as

part of their Christmas in July celebrations which will include dance activities. The program schedule will be designed to cater for all community groups with lessons during the day, evenings and weekends as well as working with the schools. This dance sport program is expected to be heaps of fun and anyone can participate with or without partners. To register an interest or request more information contact Louise Campbell on 46574222. This program has been initiated in response to feedback gained from a variety of community consultations which indicated a need for dance activities that can be enjoyed by everyone. The program is supported by Arts Queensland Regional Arts Development Fund and the Department of Local Government, Planning, Sport & Recreation.
