Due to repeated changes in the value of rupee, the criteria for income
above can be modified as below –
- A correction factor ‘F’ is calculated with the help of the recent
value of Consumer Price Index which changes on every 1st
January & 1st July.
CPI as of January 2007 is 496(Ref : Ministry of
Statistics and Programme Implementation, Govt. of
India)
F = (CPI × 4.93)/100 = 24.4528
New Income range = F × range value of old classification

NEW INCOME
SCORE
RANGE(RUPEES)
48,905 or more 12
24,450-48,904 10
18,337-24,449 06
12,225-18,336 04

PERCAPITA INCOME
>2445 1
1222-2444 2
