HOW WILL I MEASURE WHAT AND HOW I AM DOING? 2 CORINTHIANS 10:12-18
Measuring Myself by Myself In essence, this amounts to no measurement at all. It has no meaning or validity. In this scenario, whatever I do becomes the scorecard. My scorecard is simply a record of all my activity, after which I point at and say, Thats what I meant to do. Believe me, living like this has no life all. Measuring Myself by Others I can let other people become my scorecard and live my life by comparison. However, since there will always be people more capable than me and less capable than me, such an approach usually results in mediocrity. And God is not going to evaluate me; measurement is a part of Gods economy; thats what judgment isaccording to someone else. Measuring Myself by My Calling The specific criterion used by Paul was: Has the gospel been preached here yet? He measured his ministry by whether or not people were hearing the gospel for the first time and if the field of ministry was essentially new ground. Measuring Myself by Christ Himself Christ is the standard. Study the gospels and learn what scorecard Christ used. Training people for kingdom impact, touching the untouchable, speaking the truth to those in power, maintaining a vital relationship with God, preaching and teaching the Gospel these activities made up His scorecard.
