if you want the measures in oz just divide the parts with two.

it also says which glass the drink should be pored into.


the cocktails are big so if you just want to taste and try,
take the half amount of the ingredients.

some like gin, some not. consider that there are many different drinks of gin.
in almost every case the gin can be exchanged by vodka,
but then the special gin taste disappears.

if you don't have bourbon, try with some other whisky instead.
rye can replace bourbon, and canadian whisky can replace american whiskey.
the whisky in the recipes are to recommend.

stocking your bar


you cannot make drinks out of the equipment,
so you'll probably want to buy a selection of liquors and mixers too.
it is impossible to make a list that "fits all" without including every
possible liquor in the world, but here are a few guidelines on what to buy.
you should always choose your bar stock to suit your guests.
young people often prefer the more exotic drinks, so you will
need various fruit juices and flavored liqueurs instead of the
darker liquors (like whiskey) older people often prefer.
it is likely you will experience requests for drinks you cannot make,
but that happen to almost every bar now and then. you can add new
liquors to your bar stock later, and should learn how to mix what
you have in the meantime.
a well stocked bar should have the following, but you should

mix all the ingredients in a shaker with ice.

1 part creme de almond (1,5 cl)
3 parts sweet and sour (4,5 cl)

1 part bacardi 151 proof rum (1,5 cl)
shake all ingredients except 151,
with ice in a shaker.
strain into a collinsglass.
float 151 on top of the drink and
ad a cherry if you please.
