SCORING Sport Competition Anxiety Test: Items 1, 4, 7, 10, and 13 are filler items used to help disguise the purpose of the test; cross them our, as they will not be used for scoring. Items 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 12, and 15 are scored in the following manner: hardly ever=1 pt., sometimes=2 pts, often=3 pts. For items 6 and 11, the scoring is reversed: hardly ever=3 pts, sometimes=2 pts, often=1 pt. Simply total the numbers for these 1- items to determine your trait anxiety score, which ranges from a low of 10, to a high of 30. ______= Your SCAT Score Multidimensional Trait Anxiety (Sport Anxiety Scale): A cognitive, somatic, concentration disruption, and total score are calculated for this scale. Calculate and record your scores for each of the subscales listed below. ______ Somatic trait anxiety: sum items 1, 4, 8, 11, 12, 15, 17, 19, & 21 ______ Worry trait anxiety: sum items 3, 5, 9, 10, 13, 16, & 18 ______ Concentration disruption trait anxiety: sum items 2, 6, 7, 14, & 20 ______Total Trait Anxiety: sum the above three subscores State Anxiety Test: The scale divides anxiety into three components: cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety, and a related compound - self-confidence. Self-confidence tends to be the opposite of cognitive anxiety and is another important factor in managing stress. To score this test, take all the scores for each item at face value with the exception of number 14, where you reverse the score. Calculate all the other scores in the following manner: ______ Cognitive state anxiety: sum items 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, & 25 ______ Somatic state anxiety: sum items 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, & 26 ______Self-confidence anxiety: sum items 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, & 27 Your scores for each will range from 9 to 36, with 9 indicating low anxiety (confidence) and 36 indicating high anxiety confidence.
