This weekend we take a further step along that path as we join with St Wilfrids, in the hope that working together we may be stronger in proclaiming the gospel message. We welcome those from St Wilfrids who may choose to come to Mass at Our Ladys and hope you will feel able to take a full and active role in our celebrations. Introduction of the New Missal : The weekend of 1st/2nd October sees the introduction in our Diocese of the new translation of the Roman Missal we use for the celebration of Mass. (You may hear of its introduction elsewhere from this weekend). To prepare ourselves for this and to focus our attention on the meaning of the Eucharist in our lives, a short period of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place 30 minutes before Mass on each of the next four Sundays. Please respect this time of silent prayer. Many Thanks to the (very) small band of helpers who braved the elements to clear the land around the Parish Centre. Experience tells me the task is beyond us and we will need to employ someone to complete the task. Emmaus Group : The preliminary meeting of the RCIA group takes place on Tuesday of this week (6th Sept) at 7pm in the Smith Room. Flower Arranging: Wednesday 1.30pm in the Smith Room:all green foliage arrangement with a slightly taller container. Refreshments will be served in the Parish Centre afterwards. All are welcome. Please Note : There will be no Eucharistic Service at 7.30am or Mass at 9am on Wed. Birthday of Our Lady : Thursday of this week (8th Sept) is the feast of the Birthday of Our Lady and also the Solemnity of the Consecration of Our Ladys Church. Mass that day will be offered for the intention of our former Parish Priests. Vocations Afternoon : The next gathering for those aged between 13 - 18 who are thinking about the priesthood will take place on Sunday 11 September at the Metropolitan Cathedral, starting at 1.30pm in the Piazza Restaurant and concluding with Evening Prayer in the Cathedral at 3pm.
