MATTHEW 6 v9-13; PRAYER FROM A CONSECRATED HEART . Our Father which are in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Any sayings of Jesus should be meditated upon carefully. This prayer when fully analysed brings out some great truths about our attitudes when we come to God in prayer. v9; OUR FATHER. our Admission; Firstly, to the new convert comes understanding that he or she has a real God who cares and loves him. JOHN 3 v 16 ; For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. When we say Father we are accepting the fact that we are members of God's family. When we say Our Father we remember that there are multitudes of Christians in this family. The new convert admits that he now has a new relationship with Jesus Christ who redeemed him. Also a new relationship with the Holy Spirit of God. Then we have to admit to having a relationship with Christians which we did not want or have in our days of living in and with the world. Finally we can look upon our unsaved friends with Christian love and seek to bring them to Jesus. All these things because we can now say Father. WHO ART IN HEAVEN: our Recognition; We acknowledge that God's throne is in heaven. As we read the Word of God, our Bible, we learn all we need to know about Him. Then we know that Jesus Christ is now in heaven also. ACTS 7 v 56; (Stephen ) said, behold I see the heavens opened and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. We also recognise that our salvation was made possible by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is now waiting in heaven until it is time to come for His church and present it to God the Father. 1 THESSALONIANS 4 v 13-18 . HALLOWED BE THY NAME; our Adoration; Not only should the name of God be reverenced, but so also should His person be praised and worshipped. God our heavenly Father should be praised and worshipped as He alone is the supreme God of the universe and Jesus is His Son . PSALM 20 v 7 ; Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. PSALM 29 v 2 Give unto the Lord the glory unto His name, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. vlO; THY KINGDOM COME: our Anticipation we look forward to this coming again of Jesus , (We call this the rapture of the church ) for then we shall be taken to heaven for the marriage supper of the Lamb and later reign on earth with Jesus for a thousand years. JOHN 14 v 2-3 .; In my Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again , and receive you unto Myself, that where I am there you may also be. There will be continual light in heaven, no more pain, suffering, death, tears. Pray that Jesus will return soon for His church. THY WILL BE DONE. our Consecration. As we tell God that we love Him and want to commit our lives to Him, may we say like the Apostle Paul, ACTS 9 v 6 . Lord what would you have me to do ? Let us find that joy and peace that comes from following Jesus. JAMES 1 v 22 .; But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. The blessing comes from God as we agree to do His will. IN EARTH: Our Transformation. ROMANS 12 v 2 .Be not conformed to the world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Previously rebels against God, now having changed our old way of life we now desire to change our way of life to the Christ like image. Can you think of a more difficult place than earth to try to live out the 2.

kind of life that God wants of us ? We can if the Holy Spirit has control of our lives. Perhaps a constant part of our prayer life should be that people may see Jesus living out His life and purpose in each one of us, as we reach out to the unsaved, in Jesus' name. AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. our Confirmation Who can come to God and say in all sincerity, I want to do your will, obey your commandments right here on earth as it is now being done in heaven. Do we have to wait until we get to heaven ? Surely not. We want our lives to conform to Christ's life, right here on earth and we can only do that as again the Holy Spirit has full control of our lives. vll; GIVE US THIS DAY : Our Supplication; beseeching, pleading, continually in prayer. JOHN 15 v 7 .; If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you.JOHN 14 V 13-14 . And whatsoever you shall ask in My name that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. God does answer prayer because we are His children and if parents can give gifts to their children how much more will God give to us. OUR DAILY BREAD: our Realisation. That each day God is ever ready to supply our needs. And that every day we need to communicate with Him to thank Him and worship Him as the Supreme Being who created this great universe and placed us upon this earth. Just as husband and wife have daily fellowship so should it be with God and His children We would not go without food for long periods of time so why abstain from reading God's Word. If we want to understand who God really is then we should partake of the Bread of Life each day. we need to meditate on the scriptures as often as possible. AND FORGIVE US: our Humiliation. one of the most difficult things to do is to confess to someone that we sinned against them and to ask for forgiveness. It is embarrassing, humiliating but each and every person has to admit to God fact of their being sinners in His sight and to repent and ask forgiveness. Not only does God insist on this but we are also assured that He is willing to forgive those sins and to forget them How we need to keep in a right relationship with God and other people. MATTHEW 6 v 14 .; For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.PSALM 32 v 1-2 . Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity and in whose spirit there is no guile. vl2 ; OUR DEBTS : our Condemnation. It is far easier just to say, 0 God I have sinned against you, please EPHESIANS 2 v 13 . Forgive me. But we have to admit to those we have hurt who may or may not know just what it was we did to them. So far from being the nice person we assumed they thought of us, we now have to show ourselves in our true colours. Confession really is good for the soul. we are only human beings with all our faults and it is only the Holy Spirit who can make us what God wants us to be. ROMANS 3 v 23 says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. AS WE FORGIVE: Our Reconciliation.; But now in Christ Jesus, you who were sometimes far off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we are reconciled to God. All sins forgiven and back into that glorious relationship which was lost for us by Adam and Eve with their sin. So we fall out with friends of long standing, and isn't it wonderful when by simple forgiveness we can be completely reconciled. OUR DEBTORS: Our Consideration. yes we do hurt people and they hurt us. But the keeping of grudges only blossoms forth into hate and anger and then on to various sicknesses. God commands us to forgive, those who sin against us.MATTHEW 18 v 21-22 . Then came Peter to Him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and i forgive him, till seven times ? But Jesus said to him. I say not unto you seven times, but seventy times seven. You and I could never do that in our own strength, but with the Holy Spirit anointing us we too can be more Christ like. Read MATTHEW 18 v 23-35 AND LEAD US: our invitation; Here is the Christians' secret of walking with God. When we truly ask God to lead us out each day, then the Holy Spirit is given, by us, freedom to do the inner work that God desires to be done. Then we can become disciples of Jesus. ut there is much more to this simple request to 3. lead us There are six wonderful things we are involved in; Expectation, Adoration, Restoration, Consecration, Transformation and Jubilation and this is the order in which they come.

Expectation; King David had communed with God since he was a shepherd boy. He had known the blessings that come from obedience to God and he would know the chastisement that comes from sinning against God. In PSALM 139 .he comes to the end of his tether and finally commits his life to God in verses 23 and 24 of this psalm. He knew that God forgives the repentant sinner and we should also expect the blessings that will come from a life committed to God. There should be some excitement in asking God to keep His mighty hand upon us. ACTS 4 vl2; Adoration; we cannot ask God to lead us day by day if we do love and trust Him. most people do what satan wants them to do because they like doing those things. Romans 1 v32; But God says don't do them. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Christ is everlasting life, that leads to heaven and eternity with Him.MATTHEW 22 v 37-38 ; Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Let us love and worship God in spirit and in truth. Restoration; Reconciled to God as we repent of our sins and seek His forgiveness amd accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour . EPHESIANS 2 v 18 ; For through Him (Jesus ) we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now fully established as a member of God's family . What a glorious feeling this should be, new life in Christ. Consecration; After the prophet Nathan had confronted king David and told him of God's anger over his sin, David had to repent and seek forgiveness even though God had to chastise him. David had to realise that with out God's mighty hand upon him all the time he was only going to keep on incurring penalties despite God's love for him. 2 Samuel Chapter 12; But now comes the task that for a human being is much too difficult. So the sinner needs to dedicate his or her life to God and allow the Holy Spirit of God to have full control of the future. Transformation;ROMANS 12 V 2 . And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 0 that we might have a transformed life in Jesus Christ. may the Master Potter remould me into the image of Jesus. Let me not be the same this week as I was last week, may there be a continual progress in the things of God. Jubilation. When you read back over these notes and realise just what consecration to God means there should be real jubilation as we realise just what we have in Jesus as we follow Him. John 14 v27; Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. NOT INTO TEMPTATION: Our Separation . The old life has been repented of and now we seek only to please God. Knowing our own weaknesses of the past we ask God to keep us from those temptations and He replies in 1 CORINTHIANS V 13-14 . There is no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. but God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able, but will with the temptation make a way to escape that you may be able to. bear it. Wherefore my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. Let us hold on to that promise, it comes from God Himself. we seek to separate ourselves from anything that would displease God. BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL: our Jubilation; Claim all God's promises for He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. He tells us to resist satan, and satan will flee from us. Christ's death and resurrection made it possible for us to be released from the bondage of satan. The indwelling Holy Spirit strengthens us in our resistance to sin. we are children of God and as members of His family he will watch over us. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM: our Revelation; God reveals Himself to mankind, through the Scriptures and His Son, Jesus Christ. We know that the Scriptures reveal God's desire for our happiness and Prosperity . Perhaps one of the greatest revelations in His word is that we are all sinners, 4 ROMANS 3 v 23 . All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. and that we need to repent of our sins, ask forgiveness and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Then God will continue to reveal fresh truths to us. AND THE POWER: Our Consolation. Should we ever feel depressed or unloved or hurt we can turn to

our Champion for help and strength to see us through any trials. our God created the universe and then placed us in it. His is the greatest power over evil and He is a compassionate and merciful God worthy of the highest praise and worship that we can and should give Him. God is our consolation and our peace. AND THE GLORY: Our Glorification; We start our prayers with praise to God in the attitude of reverence and praise. As we obey God's will for us so we give Him glory and as we follow Jesus and witness for Him so we glorify Jesus and God. The more we live that Christ like life the more glory God gets.1;hether 1 CORINTHIANS 10 V 31 . Wheter therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God. FOR EVER: Our Affirmation. As Christians we are going to worship God for eternity, we will have an everlasting life with Jesus, who expects us to carry the above attitudes with us and continue to worship God. when we say Amen to the speaker or the book we are reading we are agreeing with what has been said or written. May we ever be ready to agree with the Word of God and let Jesus be seen to be living out His life in us and through us to reach the unsaved. When we consider the power in this prayer we should also remind ourselves that it is also a prayer of dedication to God . Here is a little challenge about this prayer; I cannot say OUR ; If I live in a watertight spiritual compartment if I think a special place is reserved in heaven for my denomination I cannot say FATHER ; If I do not demonstrate this relationship in my daily life. I cannot say WHICH ART IN HEAVEN - If I am so occupied with the earth that I am laying up no treasure in heaven. I cannot say HALLOWED BY THY NAME -if I who am called by His name am not holy. I cannot say, THY KINGDOM COME ; If I am not doing all in my power to hasten its coming; I cannot say THY WILL BE DONE ; If I am questioning, resentful, or disobedient to His will for me, I cannot say ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN -If I am not prepared to devote my life to His service. I cannot say ; GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD - if I am living on paste experiences or become apathetic to His Word. I cannot say ; FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO if I harbour grudges against anyone and will not forgive them. I cannot say ; LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION - if I deliberately place myself or remain in a position where I am likely to be tempted. I cannot say ; DELIVER US FROM EVIL ; if I am not prepared to resist the devil and use the weapon of prayer. I cannot say THINE IS THE KINGDOM - if I do not give the King that loyalty and service due to Him. I cannot say THINE IS THE POWER - if I fear what men may do or what my neighbour may think. I cannot say THINE IS THE GLORY - if I am seeking glory for myself. I cannot say FOR EVER AND EVER - if my horizon is bounded by things of time. I cannot say AMEN - if I do not also add, "Cost what it may,, For to say this prayer honestly, will cost everything . All to Jesus I surrender, All to Him I freely give. I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live. All to Jesus I surrender, Humbly at His feet I bow. Worldly pleasures all forsaken, Take me Jesus, Take me now.
