New Delhi: The revelation that Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) was to receive the 5 kg of RDX found inside

an Indica car and the fact that it was supplied by the Pakbased LeT has left Indian security agencies worried.With reports coming in that just as it has maintained links with LeT since 2002,BKI is in touch with other terror outfits from the northeast and has been recruiting cadets,the agencies believe BKI is gearing up for a big strike in the city.It was responsible for the May 22,2005 attack at Liberty Cinema. Sources pointed out that the outfit has been strongly opposing the hanging of Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar,who was convicted for carrying out a blast in New Delhi outside the All India Youth Congress headquarters in 1993 which claimed nine lives. The police sensed BKIs designs first when in March last year,two alleged BKI terrorists,Daljit Kumar alias Deepak of Baltana in Mohali district and Purshotam Singh alias Bunty from Rajoura in Patiala district,were arrested in an operation conducted by the Mohali police and the special cell of Delhi Police.This came just six months before Punjab Police discovered a BKI cell. Delhi Police sources say BKI was planning to make bombs somewhere in Delhi and that even Indian Mujahideen could be involved with them.The car had 5 kg RDX and five detonators which suggest that they were to make more than two-three bombs, said an official.The multi-agency Centres inputs have revealed that their targets were marketplaces,cinema halss and some leaders. There is a module sitting in Nepal from where a call was made few days ago.The operations are being directed from Nepal, said a source. Two France-based terrorists,Purshotam Singh of Matheri and Goldy of Ghel,both from Ambala district from where the car was found,are reported to be funding the terrorist activities.Purshottam,a proclaimed offender,is one of the accused in the assassination of former Punjab CM Beant Singh.He had also tried to eliminate former Haryana CM Bhajan Lal. Reports back in April 2002 had said the ISI had entrusted the LeT with the task of reviving terrorism in Punjab.Lashkar would impart arms training to groups like the BKI,ISYF and Khalistan Zindabad Force.Reports also say that LeT has opened at least eight camps in Pakistan to train Khalistanis. These are at Kot Lakhpat,Chakwal,Gujranwala,Mianwali,Peshawar,Attock,Shahidan Da Banga and Gulbarg in Lahore.
