Definition
Demons are evil angels who sinned against God and who now continually work evil in the world. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Gen 1:31) Then the serpent appears in Gen 3 to tempt Eve. What happened in between?

Cast into Hell

For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment (2 Peter 2)

Satan as Head of the Demons

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan[b] also came among them. 7 And the LORD said to Satan, From where do you come? So Satan answered the LORD and said, From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.(Job 1) Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devils work. (1 John 3)

The work of the Evil One

False Doctrine is from the Devil

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. (1 Tim 4)

And the Lords servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. At that moment the spirit left her.(Acts 16)
