Average roundtrip time to a tool crib in the U.S. is 15 minutes. After installation of an automated dispensing system, the average is reduced to less than 4 minutes.
1. 2. Eliminate downtime. keep employees and the plant/line working - because you'll never be out-ofstock. Reduce tool crib trip time. Decentralize tool cribs to have tools and supplies available at the point of use, and keep your employees working, not making a "coffee break" out of the transaction. Putting frequently consumed items closer to work centers eliminates the need for plant employees to travel to and from remote tool cribs to stock up on supplies. Keep management and supervisors focused on their main job Free up managers and supervisors for higher-level work - rather than wasting time controlling and locating tools and supplies to keep production on line. Managers and supervisors no longer spend time checking inventory before or after normal working hours, or issuing tools on second and third shifts. Make tools and supplies accessible 24/7 without adding to staff. Meet the needs of your growing business without adding to tool crib staff. Make tools and supplies more readily available to support higher production volume with point-of-use dispensing. Make tools and supplies more available on all shifts without adding to staff. Reclaim floor space - and use that space as a revenue generator rather than a cost center. Remove tool cribs, while making tools and supplies more available.
