Ask these simple but very important questions to yourself. 1. Have you analyzed job descriptions of various companies to identify the top skills required in the industry for the jobs you want? 2. Is your resume customized to the company and is it industry-specific? 3. Glancing at your resume, where does your eye go first, second, third, fourth and then fifth? Are these skills the ones that will hook an employer's attention in 5-10 seconds and ensure that your resume isn't discarded?
While writing your resume, do not follow the tested routes. Remember: All locks cannot be opened by the same key Customize your resume according to the needs of the employer. What is demanded is exactly what you supply. Extract key words from the companies job profile (Go to: Companys Website/Careers) and PUNCH them in your resume.
Take care to write your resume according to the nature of the job you are seeking out. If the company is looking for more academic orientation make it academic oriented and if greater communication and interpersonal skills are required \, customize accordingly. Before you start writing a resume be sure about the career path you want to follow.
