Week 1; The Getting Know Each Other: Everything at this week is all unfamiliar, just like in war, fresh faces, new recruits, and everything is odd and new. I know that the time will come that all of us will get used to it but how will it start? Of course, by getting to know each other. In this first week of our English class, I already expected that, nothing will be new, that its like lessons from my 1st to my 4th year of my high school. I said at that moment while waiting for my I mean our professor; We were like veterans about this one already with matching a soft laugh. The professor came in, and when he started speaking, it was whole different. I felt like I stepped up in the next level, he started then to discuss about the course syllabus as well as knowing our names and any other useful details. My expectations were changed at that week; it was like very different from my previous years of my study from different places and campuses. You yourself when in case that you were there, it was like you stepped up from the next level, more challenging and of course, if it is more challenging, expect that it will be more professional than what you think, but Im not expecting that lessons will just be like then before.

Week 2; Parts of Speech: The getting to know each other week is already done, at this moment; it was the real start of everything. As usual, start of the 1st lesson of my 1st year in this medical school, believe it or not, the different parts of speech of word classes, which was Im not that kind of familiar with it anymore. We started to discuss this lesson for this week. The nouns, pronouns, verbs, linking verbs etc. was tackled all over again for us and my previous quizzes and seat works? I was still not able to get a perfect score. I dont know why Im getting confused in identifying them in different construction of sentences. But then as the days goes by, we learned little by little, word by word, just like the old times. And aside from that, we already started building up a friendship relationship and openness with other professors, which (Im not sure about this one) was the reason before why the other sections got envy in us regarding on how our professor treated his students, probably the treatment is different because of the big difference in terms of the number of students in a particular block. Well, I can say that we were lucky that we can build that up kind of treatment to our professor / friend.

Week 3; Nouns and Their Kinds and Plural Forms: I dont know how to start this one but one thing I knew was, this is another lesson that we have to absorb and to comprehend better because we all know that this is also for our own good, although we had tackled this one a long time ago. Prof. Orly started to discuss this lesson in this particular week. The lesson was all basic, yeah as in basic. We were taught again the so called like rules for forming the plural nouns such as adding s to the singular to form the plural. And there are some instances that it was like a 3rd grader pupil was better than me in transforming these plural. It was also like the quizzes or the seat works were little by little eating my personal integrity, haha, but it doesnt mean that I was kind a dumb or do not have any idea about this one, everything was only confusions and confabulations. Okay?

Week 4; Pronouns and Their Kinds: Okay, were done about nouns and their different kinds. We now moved a little bit in pronouns, sister/ brother of a noun. My gosh, I didnt expect that their kinds were more than that I pictured it (such as the mass, count, abstract etc.). As he started to discuss this topic, he introduced to us what pronouns were first. After it, he then moved to its kinds such as personal, collective and the others. After it, we also started our preliminary examination, and for your information, the composition of my preliminary exam was 95/5 (95% stocked knowledge and 5% intuition). Well after it, the result was not that kind of bad, only satisfactory, I got 81%, not bad anyways.

Week 5; The Subject Verb agreement: The subject verb agreement, this was one of my favourite parts of the whole lesson in my first semester. At this week, different low pressure areas are started to form, little by little, becoming a tropical storm, and it only means one thing; NO CLASSES!!! And I forgot it my mind that C.H.E.D. said that college students are waterproof, wow. Alright, this is one of my favourite topics because, I and my other block mates / friends usually playing about this one in terms of speaking. Upon discussing this one with our professor, he taught us how to identify sentence corrections or wrong grammar sentences. We know that we will be professional with this one; we were sured about those one. Those are just examples that we did during speaking task and free talking / break.

Week 6; Royal Order of Adjectives: After a little fun and laughter studying subject verb agreement, we then proceed to the next topic, but theres a lot of them to be mentioned. Okay so the first one is the royal order of adjectives and the second is the degree of comparison. So lets start with the Royal order of the adjectives, it was kind a confusing especially when arranging them from its hierarchy. But Thanks to theD.O.S.A.C.O.M.Q it saved my life in the examination. I was then looking for that photocopied, hard to comprehend, long, greyish, recycled paper to be given to us about this matter, because before, we cant really answer it correctly in our exam paper, but good thanks to sir, probably he was then haunted by his conscience about giving us that difficult questions, so he decided to make that test to be an open noted test (yes!). And about that degree of comparison, what I discovered about this was regarding the usage of the most to make another degree in its superlative, example: most nicer. Because of the other weeks are being suspended due to tropical depressions, we were not then able to tackle about the other lessons, too bad, less classes, less bonding with sir and the class.

For This Week: Im sorry if I was not able to remember anymore for what week we tackled this topic due to class interruptions because of some circumstances. All I know is we tackled about the If clause. Alright, about the if clause, Mr. Orlando was able then to teach us, as part (maybe) of his so called word of wisdom, I just then discovered that it has something to do with our common sense to and it was then like this; I was wet because it rained. Compared to this one: It rained because I was wet. Makes sense... Week 11; Tag Questions: HmmmI just wanted to ask first, Can I write in this portion of the paper? I hope so, and I just wanted to add this too, I think we were not able to tackle this one at Week 11 because of class interruptions, so I just wrote it for formality This was also the second of my favourite topic in English class. You might know why it is; probably we were having fun with this too. Okay, tag questions; this was once used by the Americans and British a long time ago. It was like a medieval speaking. I know you will do it, wont you? if you heard others speaking like that, you might actually thought that they are talking about something which is really a serious matter, its because we are not used to hear people speaking like that nowadays. But try to listen or eardrops in our conversation with my friends? Hey, are you alright? Yes I am. Do you sure?

Week 12; American English versus British English: Oh come on, I dont know why these people are making their lives difficult enough to communicate with other people all around the world. What makes a difference for American and British English language if they are just speaking the same language? All we know what makes an American to be different from British was British has a sossy accent compared to Americans wherein when they speak, you might cant understand anything anymore. Well aside from the spelling of those peoples races, is their labels to certain things which are just similar, Such as; flashlights (for Americans) and torches (for British), and for the spelling; Favorite (for Americans) and favourite (for British). What makes this week also significant is not just because of the topic, lets just say was because of Mr. Orlandos burst of humour.

My last words then: And the last day has arrive, there will be no more classes to attend to at 2:00 in the afternoon, we will not go home anymore at 5:00 close to evening, no more grammatical examinations to think of, no more assignments to take home and no more feeling of butterflies in their tummy when called to recite for the others. We all know that classes are all over, and we will surely miss the class that we attend to at 2:00 in the afternoon even though we feel sleepy, we will also reminisce on how we altogether go home at 5:00 close to evening, we dont even still know on how we will repay you on your considerations during examinations, we will surely also miss the filling of excitement during the one by one recitations. Everything is done, so its not all those things that we will surely miss to, but then its you, and we want to say thank you with regards on how you share your professional learning to us, and who can also forget on how you treat each one of us and of course, the quality of education that you let us see from you. As what Ive said then, everything is done; we all know that you will have other students at your hands, new recruits, and fresh faces. And everything about this will stop here, but one thing for sure, even though after a lot of years to pass, your professional relationship with the class is over, but our friendship with you will never end. Thank you very much for everything.
