In Cluster restore failing with incomplete state(error 5) Below is solution from Symantec As discussed here are the steps

that I would suggest to try next. 1. Reboot the node AMPFPSDBUTD01 2a. If node does not boot, skip to step 6 2b. If node is bootable, continue 3. Apply MS VSS roll up patch to node http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349 4. Attempt recovery again of System State / SCC, assuming C: and D: are fine. 5. Verify restore, if still fails continue 6. Reimage node 7. Apply MS VSS roll up patch http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349 8. Attempt recovery again of C:, D:, System State / SCC per tech note 9. Verify restore, if still fails provide logs for review again ================================================================================ = Here are the steps to follow: 1. Re-Install OS / apply OS patches so it's at the same level as it was as time of the backup 2. Disable Antivirus software 3. Restore C:\ drive with overwrite existing files checked. 4. Create registry key as per technote: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH124575 4. Execute: <install_path>\VERITAS\Netbackup\bin\w2koption -restore -same_hardware 1 5. Select to restore System State (with overwrite existing files option checked) 6. Upon successfull restore, run w2koption command again (same as in step 4) 7. Reboot
