What you need to do to successfully achieve the project You must: Attend all lessons and be punctual. The evidence below is the basis of the project itself and is used for both interim and overall assessment. You will need to research wherever possible and use correctly referenced sources.

PRODUCTION DIARY (U5/P2) Throughout this project you will need to create and maintain a Production Diary in either written, video or audio form on a Tumblr Blog.
You will need to write down what you have done, what ideas you felt
worked well, and why ideas and actions were undertaken (why you did, what you did). Your Production Diary needs to be updated every time you work on this unit. The content of your Production Diary will also help when you come to evaluate your final productions To achieve this part of U5/P2 your Production Diary will include short sentences with only brief descriptions of how you have carried out a technical role in the production and will be uploaded to your tumblr blog To achieve this part of U5/M2 your Production Diary will demonstrate more detailed sentences, and show some understanding of you helped others in the production uploaded to your tumblr blog To achieve this part of U5/D2 your Production Diary will include detailed sentences and will clearly demonstrate how you have skilfully carried out your role in the production and will be uploaded to your tumblr blog. TASK 4. INITIAL PROPOSAL (U5/ P1) Once your research is completed you will each create a written, audio or video Initial Proposal for the Music Video in which you must highlight the following: An outline of the basic premise Who is your target audience? Where it will be shot (locations)? Who will be in it? What equipment/ props will be needed? What music you intend to use? Any permission needed on location? What format the Music Video will be shot in? The duration of the Music Video?

Pitch
When the documentation is complete you will present idea for your Music Video as a 5-minute Pitch to the class. This will be recorded to gain the evidence required for achievement of the criteria. Once your group has successfully completed the Pitch it is time to move onto the production stage. Assigns crew roles e.g. Camera, Lighting, Sound and Director Shoot footage Review footage Assess suitability Shoots pick-ups where necessary Remember to use the Production schedule call sheet and refer to the Risk assessment and location reconnaissance record (recce) documents throughout the Production process. POST-PRODUCTION (U5/P3) On completion of your shoot you need to edit your Music Video. This stage is called post-production and you will need to use editing software to edit your source material. The purpose of your initial edit is to reduce the footage time of your source material to a workable size, by selecting the takes and scenes which describe the narrative most effectively. You then need to refine your edit by re-ordering sequences and experimenting using some or all of the following techniques: Edit images, change the sequence and order of the footage Edit the sound by removing sound recorded on location or add Foley sound, narration, overdubs such as music or sound effects Use transitions such as fades or dissolves etc. Add Animations or credits Change colour levels or add filters Add special effects or other techniques Your final Music Video should be an absolute minimum of three minutes long.

Review your product by overdubbing an individual Directors Commentary using Audacity, which will be your personal evaluation of the footage explaining: How you thought of your idea? What worked and did not work in the footage? Analyse if the footage was fit for purpose Explain the choice to include or cut shots on technical and artistic grounds The suitability of the product to the target audience The technical quality of the visual and sound elements Whether the style of the film was consistent throughout How well the story line was put across?

What did I do? What skills did I learn? What went wrong? How well did you work as part of a team? How was your work received by the client and test audience? How well did you manage your time? What went right? What would I do if I started again?
Structure, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation and grammar should be of a strong standard to ensure the Evaluation is a clear expression of your findings.
