Double capacity with the Double Cut saw

The Double Cut saw is developed for high capacity and high accuracy cutting of timber. It is equipped with two saw blades which work either in parallel with the same board or with two different boards simultaneously.

Two saw blades for simultaneous cuts at both ends of the board Mill cutter for bird mouths and complex processing Two boards per cycle gives a cycle time of 6 seconds per piece regardless of length.

The two saw blades work simultaneously on the board.

The saw can be equipped with manual or fully automated board picking systems for material supply.

Post processing of the boards include automated stacking and transport of complete board packs.

The DC600 fixing system straightens the board during operations.

Automation to higher levels

With 21 servo axes, the Double Cut is a flexible saw that can be programmed to carry out both simple and complicated processing operations using the same machine. It has a milling cutter for more advanced operations. The DC600 has a full range of peripheral equipment such as pickers, stackers and marking units, making it adaptable. Another advantage with the CNC controlled Double Cut is the crossway timber input which saves floor space. The machine also utilizes the material well, as it minimizes waste with a built-in optimization function. It is easily connected to an existing network, which in turn generates more ways of utilizing the Double Cuts high capacity.

The preprocessing of adding projects to work queues can be done anywhere on the company; In the office, from the fork lift or even at the saw. The work queue and required material is published on a web site to allow fork lift drivers to know what material is needed next in the machine.

The infeed system

The DC600 infeed system includes laser measuring of the board, flipping function, marking unit and stacking to allow two boards to be cut simultaneously. The laser measuring system and the flipping function determines the curve of the board and flips it when necessary. This way, all pieces are aligned and inserted into the saw in the same manner. The saw software determines which way the curve should bend on each piece and optimizes the cuts according to this. The stacking function places two boards on top of each other. A marking unit travels along the two boards and prints information for each piece over the whole length of the board. Finally, a pusher inserts the printed and stacked boards into the cut saw in a controlled process. The infeed system can be operated manually or even better with a destacking system. When using a destacker you have the option to feed the saw from one or multiple wood piles with different board dimensions. With this option you have fully automated the infeed side of your saw.

The Stacking System

Randek stacking system for the cut saw DC600 consists of seven cassettes with swords and a hydraulic lifting table. The stacker is completely integrated in the saw and controlled from the program or manually at a separate console. The stacker senses the next board width and decides to eject a complete layer on the stack or wait for the next board before the stacking process starts. The stacker can be combined with roller conveyors for timber stack transport, making it possible to fully automate the out feed side of the saw.

Stack width 800 mm Fully automated or can be manually operated Can receive boards from the saw while stacking a full layer

The software
The software for the cut saw DC600 is in fact a Randek developed CAD/CAM-software. It gives you the possibility to import files from the leading truss calculation softwares, or to make your own boards with whatever processing operations you need to do. With an optimizing system the boards are joined together in the most rational way to minimize waste and to speed up the operations. Finally the complete jobs are gathered in the job-queue where you easily control the saw in what order to produce and when to finish and start new timber stacks on the output side.

The Editor
In the Editor program you can easily create your own projects, single pieces or a complete roof. The program can be run at the saw or as a stand-alone application anywhere in or outside your company. The easy to use interface makes the creation process smooth and problem free.

The Transfer
The Transfer program lets you import self-made or auto generated files from truss calculation programs. Here you can optimize your pieces to achieve an optimal process. The jobs get queued and you can easily make changes to job orders and timber stacks.

Export functions
The Transfer program automatically exports a picking list for the fork lift operator. He can easily see what kind of material is needed in the near future for the saw. The exported list is published in Internet Explorer on the local LAN and is visible for all personnel who require the information.
