1. Proposal Submission Guidelines


1.1 Proposal Guidelines
1. The team members should contain at maximum four members and at least two members. 2. The proposal should clearly mention the theoretical background of the project. 3. The proposal should be technically as well as economically feasible. 4. The proposal should clearly mention whether this is initial version or the modified version (modification to previous year projects). If the project is modified one, it should clearly mention what are the changes done and what are the modules added to the project. 5. No two proposals with same title or same theme will be accepted. 6. The schedule should be realistic. That means it should clearly mention the available working time, exam times, assessment times and other times that is viable to the project.

1.2 Proposal Contents


1. Cover Page a. This page contains Name of University, Name of college, name of department, project title, project members, Year (format given below). 2. Title page a. This page contains Name of University, Name of college, name of department, project title, project members, Year (format given below). 3. TOC 4. List of Figures 5. List of Abbreviation 6. Abstract a. Gist of the proposed project about 200 words if possible single paragraph. Chapter: 1 1. Introduction about the project b. This section contains the executive summary about the project. It is actually the elaborated version of the abstract and may contents several paragraphs. 2. Objectives a. Academic objectives b. Other objectives if any 3. Theoretical Background and working summary of the project a. Theoretical knowledge required for the project b. Overall representation of your project; may be in block diagram c. Context flow diagram of the project d. Working principle of the project 1

Chapter: 2 1. Literature Review a. How do you come to this project? b. What inspired you to do this project? c. What are the research done to prepare this project proposal Chapter: 3 2. 1.3. Proposal Defense


You have to defend the proposal title. There will be a presentation for defending the proposal title. In presentation, you have to clearly state that why you have chosen this project, what are applications of the project, how you are going to accomplish the project (theoretical concept). The objective of this proposal defense is to find out if enough literature survey has been carried out or not. All groups of the project should be present at the defense.

1.4. Proposal Acceptance and assigning Supervisor


After project defense, the project committee will decide whether the project proposal has been accepted. This will take 1-2 days. If project has been accepted you will be assigned supervisor. The college will not be liable if the project is delayed due to unacceptance of project.

Appendix B- Report Guidelines


1. The object of this specification is to ensure some uniformity of production of project reports for convenience of use and storage, and to ensure that they are of suitable quality for photocopying and for preservation as archive documents. 2. Description a. Paper

b. Covers The size of covers should be at least equal to the page size and not more than 15 mm greater. Covers should be printed on black cover and letter should be written in golden color at the time of final submission. c. Font The font size of normal text should be 12 point The font size should be 16 bold for headings and 14 bold for subheadings The font should be Times New Roman. The line spacing should be 1.5. d. Ink Ink shall be black enough to produce an image sufficiently dense to ensure good quality. It is recommended to use laser printing. Color printing is NOT recommended except to the extent that it may be necessary for the purposes of the report. e. Binding The report shall be bound along its left side. The binding shall be strong enough to protect and secure the contents for a reasonable time and shall allow the report to open flat without damaging the report. You have to use book binding when you finally submit to university, college, external examiners and supervisors.(after final presentation and demonstration). In all other cases, you can submit tape binding. f. Page Layout The left margin should be 1.5 The right margin should be 1.25 Top and Bottom margins should be 1. The header and footer should be 0.5 each. g. Numbering The numbering for main contents should be in 1,2,3 format and should be displayed on top right corner. 6

The paper size should be A4 (210 x 297 mm). The text should be printed on good quality white paper suitable for use The text should be printed on one side only.

The numbering for other preliminary contents like abstract, acknowledgment, table of contents, list of figures, list of abbreviations, etc should be in i, ii, iii, etc format and should be displayed on bottom center.
