Mealy and Moore Machines

The output from a Mealy machine is labelled on the state transitions, and depends on both the state and the input. The output from a Moore machine is associated with the state only. The machines are equivalent, as transformations can be done either way between the two machines. A Mealy machine can be converted to a Moore machine by adding states. In both cases we would like to use them to create a circuit such as:
