MONTERREY, NUEVO LEN MXICO From October 16 to 22, 2011 Tecnolgico de Monterrey organizes the fifth International Folk

Festival Globaliflicos, which is carried every year by mid October and it is certified by CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festival and Folk Arts) Mexico. Globaliflicos started in 2004 like a motivation platform for student groups and associations to present during Expotec (popular and multicultural celebration of the institute) where dances, music, parades, and some others artistic folk or popular manifestations are encountered that can be adapted to the scenic format. Since 2007, the festival grew at an international level strengthening the culture and diversity environment that the organizing students of Expotec have promoted for many years already. On the other hand, it stimulates us the desire of reciprocity by being hosts of foreign folk groups, due to the more than 20 occasions where Races (the representative company of folklore of the ITESM) has been guest in equal number of host cities of recognized folklore festivals. The Festival is presided by Hugo Garza Leal and directed by Elosa Hernandez, General Director and by Associated Director and Producer of Races, respectively. FFIG integrated the operative forces of students of Cultural Diffusion of Tecnolgico de Monterrey, as well as the collaboration of CARE (Confederation of Regional and Foreign Associations) of Tecnolgico de Monterrey, with different departments like residences, food services, etc. The main enclosure of the festival is the Auditorium Luis Elizondo, with a capacity for 1832 spectators, and a stage of 20x16 meters. It counts also with private and group dressing rooms, as well as first quality audio and illumination equipments. Another stage is located at Expotec, in the ITESM Stadium, which is a great student event focus in promoting the popular culture, folklore and gastronomy of the diverse regions, states and countries of students from Campus Monterrey.
