Project Business Case

Project Overview The 10-Q Grocery grown to a chain of 150 stores distributed nationwide. During its growth, each branch was allowed to operate autonomously. Each branch processes business data using its own system but all using Microsoft Excel. For purpose of consolidating company data, especially accounting data. To establish this a group of IT are hired to design and install a system that will update central office files in real time. The group decided to use a VPN, A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that uses a public

telecommunication infrastructure. The goal of a VPN is to provide the organization with the same, secure capabilities, but at a much lower cost. It encapsulates data transfers between two or more networked devices not on the same private network so as to keep the transferred data private from other devices on one or more intervening local or wide area networks. To establish this, a DSL modem and LAN system in each building will be installed assisted by a router to manage the flow of data packets for the PCs in each branch. The Internet Service Provider assigned will
provide the connection for the internet for the Head Office.

Internet and LAN connections are present for each branches PCs and printers are already available for network configuration. Updated database every week can be achieved. Every transaction is monitored every day.

Project Risks

Delayed equipments order delivery. Delayed installation of the Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connection Inablity to acquire a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connection for rural areas.

Project Constraints The Networking Project does not account for the payment of the DSL subscription to PLDT or any other ISP as well as the monthly billings of each office.
