Akkawi Café is a wonderful


surprise. Having opened re-
cently, this place offers what
many eateries in the Bethle-
hem area lack. It presents
much more than just coffee
and cake or sandwiches to
go.

It’s a restaurant with no bi-


zarre themes, schemes, or
gimmicks. It offers noth-
ing that might strike you as
strange on the menu either.
Nevertheless, the place at-
tracts and people are be-
ing drawn to its style. When
you walk in the door you
feel as if you are in a big city
café. The modern feeling of
the décor, with dim lighting,
is relaxing, evoking a luxuri-
ous sensation. The indoor
seating area has leather
couches and suede loung-
