Exercise is good for you!

Introduction
In this experiment we were trying to find out what happens to the heart rate, perspiration level, body color, and breathe rate after exercising. We jumped rope for about 8 minutes straight and after two minutes we took measurements for thirty seconds and started it again. We found quite a bit of info during this lab. If I exercise for 8 minutes my heart rate will go up, my perspiration level will rise, my breathe rate will rise, and my body color will change.

Materials Needed
Jump rope Stopwatch Thermometer Alcohol Cotton balls Heart rate/blood pressure kit (optional)

For this experiment, we used a jump rope, a stopwatch, a thermometer, and a bottle of alcohol. We did not use the cotton balls or the kit.

Methodology
First, make observations and measurements of the person jumping rope while they are sitting down and resting. Record your observations on the data table. Next the person jumping rope should begin jumping when the person with the stopwatch gives the signal and continue jumping for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes quickly make observations and measurements and record them on the data table. Now the student will continue jumping rope at 2 minute intervals until the 8 minute time period has been completed. After each 2 minute interval observations and measurements should be made. When the 8 minutes is up, the student jumping rope will rest for 1 minute. After 1 minute, observations and measurements will be taken for the final time. Dont forget to record the data on the data table. Now clean the thermometer with alchohol and return it and all other lab materials to the designated area. Finally make a separate graph for each of the following: External Body Temperature at Various Intervals of Exercise Breathing Rate at Various Intervals of Exercise Heart Rate at Various Intervals of Exercise Blood Pressure at Various Intervals of Exercise

Analysis
The graph above shows what happened after each 2 minute interval. They are all on a 110 scale to make it easier to read. The first graph shows the color of my skin during this exercise. The second shows my perspiration level (a.k.a sweatiness). The third graph shows my body temperature during these exercises. The fourth graph shows my breathing rate, how many breaths I took in a minute. The last graph shows my heart rate, or how many beats my heart made in a minute.

Conclusion
Throughout the exercises we noticed that my perspiration level and my body color didnt really change that much through the time. I realize that the sweat helps cool me down so I dont overheat. The change in the temperature confused me because the thermometer said I went down in temperature. The increased breathing rate occurs because Im producing more blood and therefore need more oxygen for my newly created blood. The heart rate is basically the same except it is the one making the blood my lungs is trying to give oxygen to. My hypothesis was slightly correct because everything rose except for my temperature.
