Open-Door Management and Competitive Bonus Structures Vital: Regional HR Survey

Respondents highlight that these two elements are the most important for employee performance and for both attracting and retaining talent Dubai November 1st, 2011: To ensure the best employee performance a company needs to hold an open-door management policy and organizations with competitive bonus structures ensure the attraction and retention of talent, according to a recent survey. The survey was conducted by IIR Middle East, in October this year, canvassing over 100 respondents across the Gulf. A total of 93.3 percent of respondents agreed on the benefits of an open-door policy, and 92 percent also agreed that developing a competitive bonus structure ensures both the attraction and retention of talent. I agree very strongly with having a competitive bonus structure: giving rewards for the right aspects is key, and will help in attracting talent through the front door. Its paramount to reward people, said Mike Lonergan, Director of Corporate Solutions, ME&A, Friends Provident International, UAE and speaker at the Human Resource Summit and Expo 2011. For us its not just about the bonus in our pockets today, but also the longer-term benefits, he continued, An open-door policy tends to operate as transparency helps aid communications. Lonergan will be speaking about employee motivation and corporate success at the forthcoming Human Resources Summit and Expo 2011, which will be held from November 20th- 24th, 2011 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai. From an employers point of view if you dont understand whats motivating your employees, you cant engage with them in any kind of meaningful manner. A high level of employee engagement can enhance productivity and bottom-line results as well as drive strong customer satisfaction, said Lonergan.
