The information below is our Appearance and Grooming Standards that comes directly from our Crew Member

Handbook. Carefully read this information and initial each statement pledging your commitment and support to adhering to all standards. Appearance Standards All crew members are expected to represent AirTran Airways courteous and caring customer service philosophy by projecting a positive and professional image through their grooming, attire, and personal hygiene. The publics perception of AirTran Airways is greatly influenced by our appearance. As such, it is very important that all Crew Members visible to the public and/or customers meet the following standards on all occasions: _____1. Uniformed Customer Contact Crew Members & Uniformed Crew Members Visible to the Public and Customers a) Comply with all aspects of the applicable appearance and uniform guidelines as outlined in the Uniform and Appearance Handbook for each work group. b) Work in a complete uniform. Failure to report to work in a complete uniform could result in loss of time and pay. c) Start each work day with a uniform that is pressed and in suitable condition and repair.

d) Keep shoes clean, polished, and in good repair. Laces are to be clean and properly tied. _____2. Non-Uniformed Customer Contact Crew Members and & Corporate Office Crew Members Crew Members who may be visible to the public, but are in a job that does not require them to wear a uniform, including Headquarters and all training facilities are to meet the following standard: a) Coordinated business or casual business attire appropriate to the position held and to the activities of the day. Business casual for men shall include collared shirts, long trousers, and dress shoes worn with socks. Business casual for women shall include sleeved blouses, business skirts or pants, and dress shoes or dress sandals.

b) All attire is to be clean, pressed and in good repair at the start of each work day. c) Denim, T-shirts, tank tops, jogging suits, tennis shoes, casual sandals and similar items are not permitted unless otherwise authorized in advance by management.

d) On special occasions and celebration days, local management may designate variations from this policy. e) When visiting the corporate offices during business hours, all Crew Members are required to dress according to these guidelines. (Monday through Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm)

______3. Non-Customer Contact Crew Members Crew Members working in jobs that are not visible to the public (i.e. Reservations Agents, Customer Relations Agents) are allowed a more casual dress code as published by the departments management. Attire must be clean and not offensive to other Crew Members in style, cut, and design and will at least meet the following standard: a) AirTran Airways issued t-shirts, nylon, silk or cotton jogging suits and denim are permitted. Non-AirTran Airways T-Shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants are not permitted.

b) All apparel must be clean, pressed and in good condition (free from holes or extreme wear.)

Grooming As with attire, the image projected by all Crew Members plays a major role in the perception others have of AirTran Airways. When not otherwise specified in the AirTran Uniform and Appearance Handbook, all Crew Members are expected to conform to the following: _____1. Good personal hygiene must be practiced each day. In consideration of the sensitivity of customers and Crew Members, colognes and perfumes should be worn sparingly. ______2. Hair should be clean and styled in a manner that is complimentary to a professional image and should not fall or cover the face. Extreme styles are not permitted (i.e. dreadlocks, tails, spikes, Mohawks, and for males, hair that falls below the top of the shirt collar.) Hair should be consistent with the natural color. Roots of colored hair should not be obvious. (More than one inch.) ______3. Female Crew Members may wear one earring in each ear and should coordinate with attire. Shoulder length or extreme earrings are not acceptable. ______4. Male Crew Members may not wear earring. ______5. Male Crew Members may have well groomed beards. Beards must consistently cover the face, follow the contour of the face and may not be extended more than an inch from the face. Side burns may not extend below the earlobes. Mustaches must be kept neatly trimmed and may not be of extreme style. (i.e. handlebars and walrus) Note: Crew Members required to wear a respirator as a safety requirement of their job will not be permitted to wear facial hair in a manner that interferes with the safe fit or seal of the mask. ______6. Visible body parts, other than earlobes, may not be adorned by any pierced jewelry including the tongue. Tattoos may not be visible to the public in uniform or on duty. Earrings may be not larger than the size of a United States quarter and must be worn from the lobe. Only one earring per ear may be worn. ______7. Fingernails should be kept clean and neatly cut. Nail polish should be of a color that compliments attire and a professional image. Extreme nail treatments such as exaggerated length (more that an inch from the tip of the finger) and designs (unnatural colors) are not permitted. ______8. Rings and necklaces should be of the conservative style. Consideration must be given to potential hazard of the rings and/or necklaces when working with equipment. The following jewelry items are permitted: two rings per hand, one bracelet per arm, and one necklace up to 18 inches in length. Thumb rings are prohibited. ______9. Female Crew Members may wear conservative facial make-up to enhance a well-groomed professional appearance. _____10. Jewelry, other loose fitting clothing or accessories will not be permitted on the ramp, in maintenance facilities and in other locations where such items would pose a safety risk.
