JEWISH DRAWINGS
When I was still young and beauteful.

 THE BEGGARS
Two beggars are sitting on the pavement in Ireland. One is
holding a large Cross and the other a large Star of David.
Both are holding hats to collect contributions. As people
walk by, they lift their noses at the guy holding the Star of
David but drop money in the other guy’s hat. Soon one hat
is nearly full whilst the other hat is empty.
A priest watches and then approaches the men. He turns
to the guy with the Star of David and says, “ Don’t you re-
alize that this is a Christian country ? You’ll never get any
contributions in this country holding a Star of David.”
The guy holding the Star of David then turns to the guy
holding the Cross and says, “Hymie, look who’s trying
to teach us marketing.”
KOL NIDRE NIGHT
Sidney telephones Rabbi Levy
He says, “Rabbi, I know tonight is Kol Nidre night, but tonight
the Spurs are in the European Cup quarter finals. Rabbi, I’m
a life long Spurs fan. I’ve got to watch the Spurs game on TV.”
Rabbi Levy replies,” Sidney, that’s what video recorders
are for.”
Sidney is suprised. “You mean I can tape Kol Nidre ?”
THE INLAND REVENU
“Hello, is this Rabbi Rabinovitz ?”
“It is”
“This is the Inland Revenu. Is Sam Cohen a member of your
congregation and if he is, did he donate 10,000 US$ to the
synagogue rebuilding fund last year ?”
“He will ! “
DE BEDELAARS
Twee bedelaars zaten op het voetpad in Ierland. De ene houdt
een groot kruis vast en de andere de Davidster. Beiden
houden een hoed naar voor om giften te krijgen. Als de men-
sen voorbijgaan trekken zij de neus op voor de man met de
Davidster, maar geven wel geld aan de andere man.
Spoedig is de ene hoed bijna vol en de andere hoed blijft
leeg.
Een priester kijkt dit aan en benadert de twee mannen. Hij
richt zich tot de man met de Davidster en zegt:” Realiseer
jij je niet dat dit een christelijk land is ? Zolang jij die David-
ster omhoog houdt, zal je in dit land niets krijgen.”
De man met de Davidster wendt zich tot de man met het
kruis en zegt :” Hymie, kijk nu eens wie ons lessen in
marketing wil geven.”
KOL NIDRE NACHT
Sidney telefoneert naar Rabbijn Levy.
Hij zegt:” Rabbijn, ik weet dat het vanavond Kol Nidre-nacht is,
maar deze avond spelen de Spurs in de Europacup de kwart-
finales. Rabijn, al gans mijn leven ben ik een supporter van
de Spurs. I moet beslist de Spurs zien spelen op TV.”
Rabbijn Levy antwoordt:” Sidney, waarvoor dienen bandop-
nemers ?”
Sidney is verrast.”Je bedoelt dat ik Kol Nidre kan opnemen ?”
BELASTINDIENST
“Hallo, is dit Rabbijn Rabinovitz ?”
“Ja, spreekt U mee.”
“Dit is de belastingsdienst. Is Sam Cohen lid van uw congre-
gatie en zoja, deed hij een gift van 10.000 € aan de synagoge?”
“Hij zal dat doen !”
