Person specification for a Front Office Supervisor.

Knowledge required: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms and S.O.P.s as well as other office procedures and terminology. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar is a must, other languages will be regarded as an asset. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Substantial knowledge of Micros Opera administration system and Microsoft Office programs. Basic knowledge of algebra, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Advanced knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation. Basic knowledge of economic, accounting principles and practices and ability to analyze collected financial data.

Skills required: Possession of proven supervisory skills in front office. Possession of strong communication and organization skills. Must be computer literate with adequate knowledge in Microsoft Office programs. Advance telephone and correspondence skills. Selling skills. Social perceptiveness. Active listening. Time management. Persuasive. Complex problem analysis and solving.

Qualifications and experience: Strong ability to communicate in English effectively in oral as well as written form. Minimum of five years of experience at the front desk in a four star or of higher standard hotel.
