An update on a busy weekend

Mrs Allardyce
We are thrilled to inform you that Miss Parks was married yesterday and she now returns to us as Mrs Allardyce. Those you who have had your children taught by Miss Parks will know what a dedicated teacher and all round inspirational person she is to us all. Our best wishes and prayers are now with Mr and Mrs Allardyce in their future ahead.

Immanuel Football Team

Attending Mrs Allardyces wedding meant I was unable to brave the elements to see our school football team get to the finals of the Lambeth & Southwark Schools Football 7-a-side cup. This is the schools greatest achievement from all the years we have entered the league and we now have the chance to go one better as we are still in the latter rounds of the 11-a-side cup competition. The team of Jakub, Ebi, Javone and Terrell from Year Six and Boris, Darin, George and Shay from Year Five spent eight hours and six matches competing to get through to the cup final. A huge vote of thanks go to Mr Dwyer who gave up his Sunday to coach the team as well as coordinating the team and generally volunteering to secure this key success to add to our schools growing list of achievements on the sports pitch. Please note this achievement amongst others will be acknowledged at our Awards Presentation Evening on Wednesday 29th June. We do hope all the children involved in all our clubs will attend this annual event and will be supported by their parents and carers. Dont forget, its a Premiership Footballers/Evening wear event.

Love Streatham Action

Finally, we owe a huge thanks to Hopeton Cunningham, parent of Jelani and Jebari, for co-ordinating a group of volunteers as they cut low hanging branches from the school trees and generally worked on tidying the school grounds. These wonderful volunteers are part of the Love Streatham action group and they were joined in their efforts by our MP, Chukka Umunna. All the above were during a weekend where the quantity of rain began to cause problems to our building with a number of blocked drains and leaks appearing and some unfortunate damage resulting. Finally, the weekend wasnt the best preparation

for the Year Six residential journey which left safely today. We now hope for good weather for them and for us all over the week ahead. Yours sincerely, Mr Robinson Headteacher
