1 SRAL XD ALLOWED CONFIGURATIONS

The license of the system is stored into the Memory Key unit. The license is composed by parameters as Capacity, Modulation and System Type. When a change of configuration leads to modify one of this feature, the system check if the fees present permits the new setting. Below the upgradeable parameters with the possible values are listed: Default value(1) 4E1

2 LICENSE UPGRADING PROCEDURE

2.1 REQUIREMENTS
In order to upgrade the License Type of IDU SRAL XD an Upgrading kit is provided. It is composed of: A Smart Key (with USB interface): this key is programmed with specific number of credits and allows upgrading a specific license feature among capacity, modulation, and system type. A CD rom with the following files: Readme --> this file contains important notes and instruction LicenseManager --> contains file for install LicenseManager tool SmartKey_Drivers --> contains port drivers for Smart Key See Annex A. to the end of document to see all codes of offered kit.

2.2

PROCEDURE
This procedure is applicable to Single Board and Plug-in IDU version. Each parameter described must be upgraded separately from the other ones. Thus the following procedure must be repeated if more than one parameter needs to upgrade. Note: The license downgrading is not foreseen.

1. Install LicenseManager tool running lm*_***SETUP.exe (where *_*** corresponds to the version of LicenseManager tool, for example: lm3_4b2SETUP.exe) on CD of Upgrading License Kit:

4.Press Install button

5.Press Close button

At the end of installation, the lm_SRAL XD shortcut is available on desktop or in Start Menu (in SIEMENS License Manager folder).

6.Have a connection with LCT or NetViewer to IDU SRAL XD, open Feature Control window and read License-Mask and Challenge-Number fields.

Important Note: Make sure that IDU is in stable condition: do not switch of the IDU, do not perform software reset or controller switch bank up to the end of license upgrading procedure. 7. Connect Smart Key (contained in Upgrading License Kit) to appropriate PC port. 8. Run LicenseManager tool (lm_SRAL XD shortcut). If a message below appears

the Smart Key is not properly equipped or a wrong type is used or the appropriate driver is not correctly installed. In this case run the skeyadd.exe present in the KeyP.zip folder contained in the CD-Rom. When the LicenseManager is on run, the window below appears:

9.Write current License Mask 10.Write current Challenge Number 11. Press Show License button to verify the existing license into the Smart Key 12.Flag feature you want to enable

13.Press Generate button (*)

14.License Key is generated

(*) Note: Press Generate button only when you filled all boxes with the correct values. When License key is generated the total Credits of smart key will be decreasing according to the value of updated feature. Moreover every License-Key is strictly associated to the IDU that has the specified LicenseMask and Challenge-Number.

15. Press OK button on Status window

and DONT CLOSE the License Key Generation window (for more safety memorize the four License-Key fields in a text file). 16. Press Modify button on Feature Control window in order to enable License Mask writing:

17. Copy the first field of generated License-Key into the License Key #1 field:

18. Repeat previous step for the other 3 fields of License-Key and Press Upgrade button on Feature Control Window:

19. Feature Control window automatically close. Open it again and verify that License Type has the new value:

20. Close License Key Generation window (Quit button).
