Statement of Purpose
I am looking for creative and challenging summer internship where I can exercise my civil engineering and interpersonal skills that gives me an opportunity to learn new things and to the emergence as a competitive professional.

Instrument Familiarization:
GPS, Trimble Total Station, Digital Theodolite, Auto Level, Lathe machine, Drilling machine, Milling machine, Shaping machine, and Welding apparatus.

Project work and Presentations:

Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data processing and interpretation: The project work was to generate 3-D pictures of valley of Kuchh Gujraat India and to study how a geological change takes place for instance showing Tectonic Movements. This was done by application software ENVI 3.6 software to study the data. This project was under Prof J.N. Malik of Dept of Civil Engineering IIT Kanpur. ACC-ICI National Cube Competition: The objective was to design 150 mm cube of 30M target strength with give slump of 50-65 mm. This competition was conducted by Associated Cement Companies and Indian Concrete Institute (ACC-ICI). It was aimed to determine how various w/c ratios can alter the strength of concrete. It was under the guidance of Prof Sudhir Mishra of Dept of Civil Engineering IIT Kanpur.

Flow past a cylinder: It is the analysis of flows over a cylinder using FLOD 3-D
software. The idea was to calculate and analyze the horizontal forces exerted by water over the pillars of a bridge. Project is still going on under supervision of Prof Pranab Mahopatra of Hydraulic Engineering Dept of Civil Engineering IIT Kanpur.

Blausius flow over a flat plate: The work is to generate an alternate innovative
solution for Velocity field within the boundary layer, boundary layer thickness and drag force on the plate using Numerical Methods of Computation. I am still doing this work under Prof Rajesh Srivastava of Dept of Civil Engineering IIT Kanpur.

Designing & Manufacturing Penalty Shooters & Cruise: The project was to manufacture something useful using different kind of machines like Lathe, milling, drilling etc. Gears were also made to implement rotation mechanism. Also we made Cruise using technique of moulding & casting by molten Al metal. It was under Dr. Anish Upadhyaya MME Department & Dr. S. Basu Me Department IIT Kanpur.

Technical Papers:
River Interlinking- Pathway to Prosperity or Catastrophe: Interlinking of rivers if materialized, would be the largest ever water project this world has ever seen. The cost of the project is estimated to be of the order of India's annual G.D.P. system minimizes the consumption of non-renewable resources and emission of wastes. Therefore its worthwhile to look at public transport and its innovative solutions to mange traffic congestion. Smart material shaping a new world of smart construction: Paper was basically in two parts. Different kinds of smart materials are discussed. And what are their utilities building construction. It covers What are smart constructions and what are special feature that smart buildings possess. The Railway children: This report is about those children who are basically poor and are dependent on Railways and its system for their survival. It presents an overview of their lives including their living habits, their method of working and also some negative traits in their personalities. Application of Geosciences in Projects of Civil Engineering: The paper includes basics of earth study and factors for tectonic plate movements. Later it describes How it can affect history of Construction materials and Technical barriers to Technological Applications.

Public Transport: A solution for managing traffic congestion: A sustainable transport

Computer Skills:
Operating Systems Languages Known Softwares handled Civil Engineering Windows 2000, XP & Linux. Ocaml & Java languages. AutoCAD-02, MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat Reader Geo-studio, Envi 3.6 & Flow 3D softwares.

Academic Achievements:

Secured 2nd position in 10th class CBSE board exam with 94% in Sc + Maths. Secured 1st position in 12th class CBSE board exam with 86.6% along with 92.33% in PCM. Secured 2520th Rank in IITJEE-2003 mains with 1078th Rank in the Screening and joined Dept of Textile Engineering IIT Delhi. Cleared IITJEE-2004 with Rank-2228th and screening Rank-760th. Secured a rank within top
1.1 % of students appeared.

Obtained MCM Scholarship in IIT Kanpur 2004. Won consolation prize in National Level ACC-ICI 2006 cube designing contest

Extracurricular Activities:

Co-ordinator: Acted as Co-ordinator for the Transport Cell Antragni-06. Antragini is national level Cultural Festival of IIT Kanpur. Acted as Coordinator during Geology and survey Camp-2006. There I represented my batch and assisted in smooth conduct of the camp. Worked as Assistant Co-ordinator for Endeavour Techkriti-06: A technical festival of IITK. Assistant Co-ordinator: Show management Cell Antaragni-05 & managed numerous events. Worked as Security Officer for Udghosh -06- A national level games festival of IITK. Won 1st prize in Josh-2005 and Josh-2006 in institute level volleyball tournament match. Won Gold medal in SMASH-05 Inter hostel volleyball games festival at my institute. Represented my School in Table Tennis for the Cluster and Regional Meets. Editor for our departmental magazine STRENGTH for two consecutive years 2004-2006.
