“DANIEL”
#2 in a Series “Heroes”
The Bible is filled with genuine heroes who were neither politicians nor sports
celebrities. Today let’s look at the Biblical hero: Daniel. His story is found in the
Old Testament book, Daniel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Principle # 1
Genesis 11:1–4, 8 & 9 “Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.
As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. They said to
each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick
instead of stone and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city,
with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and
not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
Genesis 12:1 “The Lord had said to Abram “Leave your country, your people and your
father’s household and go to the land I will show you.”
Genesis 11:31 “Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his
daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of
Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran they settled there.”

Principle # 2
We must acknowledge if we put “Garbage In” we can expect to get “Garbage Out”.
Daniel 1:11-15 “Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed
over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, “Please test your servants for ten days:
Give us nothing but vegetable to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance
with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in
accordance with what you see… At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and
better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.”

Principle # 3
Daniel 1:8 “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine…”
There lives in us a
HERO
awaiting the call
to action.
