Outreach Ministry How This Effects the Kids that are Bused Versus the Church Kids

Bus Ministry is hard work that will take lots of energy, dedication, and consistency, yet it is rewarding. To reach one child or one family for God will be worth all of eternity. How does this affect our church kids? We need to teach our people that they will be different yet we must show love toward them. Some will have a bad odor, talk inappropriately, and may be loud and unruly at times, but it will take lots of patience on our part as workers and church adults, while showing a loving attitude. We must make special effort to be consistent in our loving discipline order to witness to these children. We cannot treat our own church kids differently than those that come from within the community. This attitude will eventually be detected!

When we have church families who will not send their children to the kids worship, this may send a wrong message to those we are seeking to reach in the community - like they are better! Assign your bus kids special parts just as you would those within the church body. They need this opportunity to bloom as well. Excluding these kids from your church service because they are noisy will hinder them from learning about adult worship. We are here to minster on this earth to the desirable as well as the undesirable. Christ gave His life for ALL not only the ones that look and act nice and have a good odor. He loves the ones that are dirty, ugly, and unruly. You may have kids come to church hungry. We need to feed them, Of course, some will complain about the cost and the work involved. Jesus fed the 5,000 from a little boys lunch - who gave it all holding nothing back. When you are doing your best to reach out in the community, Satan will use all forces to go against your efforts including those within the church. Let us be careful in our ministries that we do not allow this type of attitude. Rev. Jeanne McIntosh 2011.
