Dear Wendies, How are you both ? I hope well. So much is happening now it is hard to keep up. I thought Id just drop you a short note and link about a thing of concern here at present. FOLIC ACID: Yesterday on TV there was a panel debating the pros and cons of Kate Wilkinson NZ Food Safety Ministers decision to follow Australia and compulsorarily add Folic Acid to bread sold throughout the country later in the year to help eliminate about 5 cases of Spina bifida in babies we get on average each year. The panel included a number of people who were strongly against it and the Green Party spokeswoman Sue Kedgley said there was now not only overwhelming evidence the synthetic form of Folic Acid causes prostate cancer in men, it is now known to stimulate a whole host of other types of cancer as well. In spite of this the Minister just said, my hands are tied, and although I agree with the arguments against it, New Zealand has signed the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) agreement and since Australia has made it compulsorary we must as well. In response to this came the cry from her opponents, who is running this country, our government or Australia? Dear Wendies both, We had quite an experience today. This is Alexandria writting to you as its a special bit of excitement that I thought you would like to know about, and Mom might not tell it as well as it should be told. Mom called me out to look at the clouds - some storm clouds had been blowing up this afternoon, it being such a very hot, very dry day. I came out, she was sitting on the couch busily doing some filing, I looked out the window - in the front yard across the street our neighbor, a rather gentle little man was standing there with his cell phone camera, recording the sky. I thought, boy he must really think the clouds are pretty too then I looked up, there - right in front of me - in the eastern sky was a huge tornado. Tornado, waterspout, dustdevil- I dont know what you would call them Down Under- but it was big- just over the treelineand coming towards us. I yelled Tornado! Mom about levitated - Dad came running. I ran in the back of the house, started closing off doors, emtying anything that could fly out of hallway. I didnt know how long it would take to get here, but I was not going to take anychances. Dad called, told me to come look, it was incredible, being finished enough with preparations, I came back out - there it was- right there in the sky still- Just then Mom started praying- Dear Father- protect us- bind that tornado, dont let it hurt any one - let it go back up into the sky, In Jesus name break up! We turned to look at it - and that very instant, it broke apart - came apart from the middle - and went right back up into the sky. It looked like the lid coming

In newly released findings from the Leadership Networks LargeChurch Senior Pastor Survey, 81% of senior leaders in churches with more than 2,000 attendees view their role as preacher/teacher while only 16 % see themselves as a pastor, shepherd or spiritual guide. Fifty-one percent chose the term directional leader and 33% described themselves as a visionary. The majority of megachurch pastors say they are strongest in preaching (79%) and thinking about and promoting a vision and goals for the congregations future (77 %). Around a third say teaching people about the faith and training people for ministry and mission are tasks they do best. And only 10 % say they are strongest in pastoral counselling and spiritual direction. Those who see themselves more as a preacher/teacher say theyre best AT PROMOTING A VISION while those who call themselves a pastor say they do preaching/teaching better than promoting a vision. The survey found that self-described pastors are less satisfied with the evangelistic emphasis of their church, indicate that a lower percent of their newest members came to faith in Christ through the ministry of their church, are less likely to lead a multi-site church, lead slightly smaller churches, and preach slightly more weekends a year. Megachurch pastors on average preach at three services each weekend and 39 weeks a year. More than half (51%) of megachurch leaders look to
97 conferences as part of their continuing education, 43 percent say in-person relationships is most helpful in their continuing education, 31 percent point to magazines and books, and 18% go online to further their education. Results of the survey are based on responses from 232 senior pastors serving in megachurch congregations. As a side note, I was mildly encouraged, if not amused to finally see an article in the Baptist Press this week, titled, When the bubble bursts, criticizing some of the practices and principles of the church growth movement (be it too little too late) its author mentioning the damage its done over the years in the churchs search for relevancy, which frankly, is a ridiculously unbiblical notion in and of itself something that begs repeated rebukes. You see, I submitted numerous articles to the Baptist Press and other Christian publications like it from around late 2000 to 2002 in a vain attempt to warn them and their readers about the church growth movement and its leaders. I should also point out that the Baptist Press still publishes pro CGM articles and authors; so, its not like they have repented or anything theyve only attempted to demonstrate more balance in their reporting, if you want to call it that. Now that the dumbed-down church is practicing tolerance as a biblical principle, Warren can now move Christians further down the road to ruin by encouraging us to respect other religions, beliefs and values as if that too is biblical. Companies are already working to make one. Few experts doubt there will be an H1N1 vaccination campaign but questions remain about how much companies should be prepared to make, whether to try to stretch the supply using ingredients called adjuvants and who should get the vaccine. Here are some potential scenarios: (only one here included) FULL SPEED AHEAD W.H.O. could advise companies to switch to full-speed production of an H1N1 swine flu vaccine for the northern hemispheres autumn, with the goal of getting a maximum 4.9 billion doses ready. More doses would be needed if clinical trials show that people will need two shots a few weeks apart to get the best protection. Even more doses would be needed if children aged 2 to 9 turn out to need three doses. Currently, unvaccinated children under 9 need two influenza vaccinations the first year to get full protection from seasonal flu. It is possible WHO will recommend
that all age groups be immunized against the new H1N1 virus. Usually, countries issue guidelines for specific age groups, depending on who is worst hit and balanced against vaccine availability. The elderly and the very young are usually at the front of the line for influenza vaccines because they are most likely to die or develop serious complications. JERUSALEM In his major address to the Muslim world last week, President Obama quoted a verse from the Quran that is interpreted as urging Muslims to follow Muhammad in waging jihad against nonbelievers. The context of the verse - first noticed by Robert Spencer of the Jihad Watch website - was confirmed by Quranic experts contacted by WND. I have pointed to this section of the Quran as showing the importance of jihad and to follow the prophet (Muhammad) in jihad even though a war may be difficult, Abu Abaida Al-Ahmed, the imam of a central mosque in Gaza City, told WND. Obama quoted the verse in question during a section of his speech where he was stressing a new beginning between the U.S. and the Muslim world, and the need for a sustained effort to listen to each other. Obama continued: As the Holy Quran tells us, Be conscious of God and speak always the truth. That is what I will try to do - to speak the truth as best I can, humbled by the task before us, and
firm in my belief that the interests we share as human beings are far more powerful than the forces that drive us apart. Obama was reading from chapter 9 verse 119 of the Quran, which deals with the theme of not abandoning Muhammad. The next Quranic passage continues: Neither the dwellers of the city, nor the Arabs around them, shall seek to stay behind the messenger of Allah (when he mobilizes for war). Nor shall they give priority to their own affairs over supporting him. This is because they do not suffer any thirst, or any effort, or hunger in the cause of Allah, or take a single step that enrages the disbelievers, or inflict any hardship upon the enemy, without having it written down for them as a credit. People who defy medical health officers beefed-up swine-flu isolation powers risk being fined and forcibly detained. The government on Monday added swine flu to the list of notifiable diseases. This allows people who have been in contact with patients who have swine flu to be compulsorily solated at home, and pupils and teachers who are patients or contacts to be excluded from schools. These measures are in addition to the general powers of medical officers of health under the Health Act 1956 to isolate people considered at risk of spreading swine flu. A person who disobeys medical officers orders faces a $500 fine, plus $50 for each further day of non-compliance. Last week Congress passed the war supplemental appropriations bill. In an affront to all those who thought they voted for a peace candidate, the current president will be sending another $106 billion we dont have to continue the bloodshed in Afghanistan and Iraq, without a hint of a plan to bring our troops home. Washington spends with impunity domestically, bailing out and nationalizing everything they can get their hands on, and the foreign aid and IMF
funding in this bill can rightly be called an international bailout! As Americans struggle through the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, this emergency supplemental appropriations bill sends $660 million to Gaza, $555 million to Israel, $310 million to Egypt, $300 million to Jordan, and $420 million to Mexico. Some $889 million will be sent to the United Nations for so-called peacekeeping missions. Almost one billion dollars will be sent overseas to address the global financial crisis outside our borders. Nearly $8 billion will be spent to address a potential pandemic flu which could result in mandatory vaccinations for no discernable reason other than to enrich the pharmaceutical companies that make the vaccine.

God has told us this would eventually take place, the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation prophetically reveals all. Just as God cared for Noah, Enoch and Lot in times of Apocalypse, so He will also care for those who have accepted Christ Jesus as their personal Saviour. Fear not! The One who loved you enough to die on the Cross for you is perfectly able to direct you and your loved ones, to take you to Himself when the appointed time arrives, and in the interim, to keep you safe in His protection. Jesus Christ is ever with you, through the Holy Spirit. Christ is your Great Shepherd, and goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life. (Psalm 23).
