BLOOD TYPE O

Meat and poultry Eat All meat except pork, bacon and ham. Eat all poultry except quail. Meat is your best source of protein - be sure to regularly eat red meat. Among your best choices of meat are beef, lamb, calves' liver, veal and venison. Seafood and snails Eat all fish except barracuda, catfish, muskellunge, octopus, pollack and squid. Eat all shellfish except abalone and conch. Fish, particularly cod, bass, halibut, rainbow trout, snapper, sole and swordfish, are a good source of protein, but don't be tempted to eat fish instead of meat - include both in your diet. Dairy Eat butter, clarified butter, goat's cheese, sheep's cheese, mozzarella, goat's and sheep's yoghurt. Avoid all other cow's milk cheeses, cow's and goat's milk, cow's yoghurt. Limit your consumption to no more than two yogurts and two pieces of cheese per week - you may not tolerate cheese. Eggs Eat duck eggs and chicken eggs. Avoid goose and quail's eggs. Eat them upto six times a week. Oils Eat flaxseed/linseed oil, olive oil, canola oil, sesame oil and walnut oil. Avoid coconut, corn, cottonseed, peanut(groundnut), safflower, soya, sunflower and wheat germ oils. Use olive oil for cooking and salads, all others for salads only. Use cider vinegar or lemon juice in dressings. Nuts and seeds Eat almond, flaxseed/linseed, hazelnut, macadamia, pecan, pine nuts, walnut, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds. Avoid Brazil nuts, cashews, peanuts, chestnuts, pistachios, sunflower seeds and poppy seeds. Include regularly in your eating habits, especially walnuts and ground flax seeds. Legumes and soya products Eat all beans except kidney beans, lentils, haricot (navy) beans, pinto beans and tamarind. Eat soya as beans, cheese, milk, miso, tempeh, tofu, etc. You can eat some beans and soya products but your best sources of protein are meat, poultry and fish. Get your fibre from vegetables. Grains Eat Essene bread (100% sprouted grain bread), buckwheat, kamut, milet, oats, quinoa, rice, rye, spelt, tapioca, wild rice. Avoid barley, corn, sorghum and wheat. Vegetables Eat all vegetables except alfalfa sprouts, capers, cauliflower, cucumber, leek, mushroom (shiitake, domestic), olive(black), pickle, potato (sweet potatoes are OK). Make vegetables 'king' at your table. Eat onions as an actual vegetable. Fruits All except asian pear, avocado, bitter melon, blackberry, cantaloupe, coconut, honeydew, kiwi, orange, plantain, tangerine. Eat plenty of berries in season. Eat about 450g/1lb of fruit per day. Spices Eat all except mace, nutmeg, pepper(pre-ground black/white). Turmeric and ginger are especially suitable due to their anti-inflammatory and digestive qualities. Culinary herbs All. Parsley is very good for you, so eat it in large quantities regularly in your salads. Beverages Green tea, soda water, red wine are good choices for you. Avoid coffee, lager, spirits, black tea and white wine.

BLOOD TYPE A
Meat and poultry Eat chicken, cornish hens, grouse, guinea fowl, ostrich, squab and turkey. Avoid beef, duck, goose, heart, lamb, liver, mutton, partridge, pheasant, pork, bacon, ham, quail, rabbit, veal and venison. Acceptable forms of meat and poultry should be eaten in moderation. Seafood and snails Eat all fish except anchovy, barracuda, bass (bluegill, striped), beluga, bluefish, catfish, caviar, eel, flounder, grouper, haddock, hake, halibut, herring (and kippers), plaice, smoked salmon, octopus, scup, shad, sole, squid, tilefish. Eat abalone and snails, avoid all the rest. Your best choices of fish include cod, mackeral, monkfish, pollack, red snapper, salmon, sardine, trout (rainbow and sea), whiting. Snails are a super health food for you. Dairy Eat feta cheese (from goat's or sheep's milk), clarified butter, goats cheese, kefir, goat's milk, mozzarella, paneer, ricotta, sheep's cheese, sour cream (low or non-fat), yogurt. Avoid butter, buttermilk, cow's milk (whole, skimmed or semi-skimmed), all other cow's milk, cheese, whey. Although you can eat those diary products listed, none are especially good for you - eat at most three yoghurts and three pieces of cheese from this list per week. Some may not tolerate milk products at all. Eggs Duck, chicken, goose and quail eggs may be eaten upto three per week. Oils Flaxseed/linseed oil, olive oil, walnut oil, canola oil, safflower oil, sesame oil, sunflower oil, wheatgerm oil can be used. Avoid coconut oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, peanut(groundnut) oil. Use olive oil for cooking and salads, all others for salads only. Avoid all types of vinegar in salad dressings, use lemon juice instead. Nuts and seeds Eat all except for brazil nuts, cashews and pistachios. Include these regularly in your eating habits, especially peanuts, walnuts and ground flaxseeds. In any case, vary your grains and avoid over-eating wheat. Vegetables All except aubergine (eggplant), cabbage, capers, cassava, chilies, shiitake mushrooms, olives, peppers, potato, rhubarb, sweet potato, tomato, yam. Make vegetables 'king' at your table. Fruits All except banana, coconut, honeydew melon, mango, orange, papaya, plantain, tangerine. Spices All except for cayenne pepper, chilli powder, pepper (black, white, red). Turmeric and ginger are especially good due to their anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. Culinary herbs All. BLOOD TYPE B
Meat and Poultry Eat beef, lamb, calves' liver, mutton, ostrich, pheasant, rabbit, turkey, venison and veal. Avoid chicken, cornish hens, duck, guinea fowl, heart, goose, partridge, pork, bacon, ham, quail, squab. you are also a meat eater like blood group O, but your choice is more restricted. The meats most beneficial to you are lamb, mutton, rabbit and venison. Seafood and Snails Eat all fish except anchovy, barracuda, bass (bluegill, sea, striped), beluga, butterfish, eel, octopus, pollack, salmon roe. Eat scallops and avoid clam, conch, crab, lobster, molluscs, mussels, oyster, shrimp and snails. These are a very good source of protein - your best choices include cod, flounder, haddock, halibut, mackerel, salmon, shad, sole and sturgeon. Dairy Eat all dairy except for blue cheese. The majority of B's can eat dairy produce and it is a good source of protein. Your best choices include goat's cheese, goat's milk, mozzarella, cottage cheese, feta cheese, cows' milk and yoghurt. Eggs Eat chicken eggs, and avoid duck, goose and quail eggs. Oils Eat flaxseed/linseed oil, olive oil, walnut oil, wheatgerm oil and avoid all other oils. Use olive oil for salads and cooking, all others for salads only. Nuts and seeds Eat almonds, brazil nuts, chestnuts, flaxseeds/linseeds, macadamia nuts, pecans, walnuts. Avoid cashews, hazelnuts, peanuts, pine nuts, pistachios, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds, safflower seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds. Include walnuts and ground flaxseeds/linseeds in your diet. Legumes and soya products Eat broad (fava) beans, cannellini beans, kidney beans, lima beans, haricot (navy) beans, northern beans, red beans, green beans, white beans, soya beans. Avoid aduki beans, black beans, black-eyed beans, chick peas (garbanzos), lentils, mung bean sprouts, pinto bean, tamarind, soya products . Another good source of protein. Haricot (navy) beans, kidney beans and lima beans are your most beneficial choices. Grains and related products Eat essence bread (100% sprouted grain bread), barley, millet, oats, quinoa, rice, spelt, wheat. Avoid amaranth, buckwheat/kasha, corn, kamut, tapioca, rye, sorghum, wheat & wheat products, wild rice. As strange as it may seem, refined wheat is better for you than whole wheat.

Vegetables Eat all except artichoke (domestic, globe), olives, pumpkin, radish, rhubarb, tomato. Make vegetables the 'king' at your table. Fruits Eat all except avocado, bitter melon, coconut, persimmon, pomegranate, prickly pear, starfruit. Spices All except allspice, cinnamon, pepper (preground black and white). Make special use of ginger and turmeric for their anti-inflammatory and digestive effects. Culinary herbs Eat all. Parsley is very good, so eat it in large quantities and regularly in your salads. Beverages Drink cider, larger, coffee, tea, red and white wine. Avoid spirits, soda water and fizzy drinks. Green tea should be your beverage of choice.

BLOOD TYPE AB
Meat and poultry Eat lamb, calves' liver, mutton, ostrich, pheasant, rabbit and turkey. Avoid beef, chicken, cornish hens, duck, goose, grouse, guinea fowl, heart, pork/bacon/ham, partridge, quail, squab, sweetbreads, veal, venison. Eat small quantities of meat. Seafood and snails Eat all fish except anchovy, barracuda, bass (all types), beluga, eel, flounder, haddock, hake, halibut, octopus, salmon roe, sole, trout (brook, rainbow, sea), whiting, yellow tail. Fish is an excellent source of protein - your best choices include cod, mackerel, monkfish, pike, red snapper, salmon, sardine, shad, sturgeon and tuna. Eat abalone, mussels, scallops and other shell fish and avoid clams, conch, crab, lobster, oyster and shrimp. Eat snails - they are health food for you. Dairy Eat all (including sheep's and goat's products) except blue cheese, brie, butter, buttermilk, camenbert, half-and-half cow's milk (whole), parmesan cheese, provolone cheese. This should be well tolerated in reasonable amounts. Cultured milk products such as yogurt are particularly suitable, as are cottage cheese, feta cheese and goat's milk. Eggs Eat chicken, goose and quail eggs. Avoid duck eggs. Oils Eat olive oil, canola oil, flaxseed/linseed oil, peanut oil, soy oil, walnut oil, wheat germ oil. Avoid coconut oil, cottonseed oil, safflower oil, sesame oil, sunflower oil. Use olive oil for cooking and salads. Use all other oils for salads only. Avoid vinegar in dressings, use lemon juice.
