DIOLAS LFD 3000

LFD 3000 - Specialised Laser Technology for Modern Treatments in Urology und Urogynaecology For the first time it has been possible to combine a powerful, clinically proven laser for the effective treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) with the Destruction of Stones (Lithotripsy). Medical studies have shown that this special laser technology in combination with the LFD treatment mode results in an astonishing penetration depth of about 1 mm in soft tissue. The physician can efficiently and simultaneously, vapourise and coagulate the prostate. This allows the use of the LFD treatment for high-risk patients. With the option of using either Sidefire or Bare Fibers, the device provides maximum flexibility during the treatment.

LFD stands for Levelled Field Density and describes a unique operating mode which enables maximum vapourisation, with minimal penetration depth, during treatment of soft tissue.

Minimal Penetration Depth

Intraoperatively Histological results of a clinical study have shown that the penetration depth of the DIOLAS LFD 3000 in prostate tissue is about 1 mm. This is clearly below the regular penetration depth of normal Diode Lasers at about 9 mm, or the normal 3 mm with Green Lasers. Postoperatively
