COURSE OUTLINE

Subject: General management Course: PGDM No. Of teaching hours : 30hrs. Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to: 1. Identify the steps of problem solving and decision making in organizations. 2. Apply knowledge of managerial practices to case studies. 3. Recognize challenges in the achievement of good managerial performance. 4. Describe human resource planning and staffing processes needed to achieve optimal performance. 5. Prepare a business forecast and budget. 6. Illustrate how business ethics and social responsibility apply to organizations. 7. Define change and stress in organizations and prepare a plan to implement changes using case studies. 8. Describe formal and informal organizational communication processes and how to influence employees.
