INTRODUCTION KBR requirements for gas turbines correspond to those of API Standard 616, "Gas Turbines for Petroleum, Chemical, and Gas Industry Services", Fourth Edition, August 1998, with the specific options, deletions, additions, or modifications contained in this specification. The paragraph numbers in this specification correspond to those used in API 616. Paragraph numbers may not be consecutive and all API paragraphs not addressed herein shall be considered verbatim requirements of this specification. Instructions contained in this specification such as "Add" or "Substitute" shall be interpreted as follows: If information is "added" to an existing paragraph in the API Standard, the requirements of this specification shall be read as a continuation of the API paragraph. If information is "substituted", the API requirement shall be replaced in its entirety by the requirements of this specification. API paragraphs which are "revised" have specific revisions noted in this specification. If (New) is next to a paragraph number not appearing in API 616, it shall be read as a KBR added requirement. NOTE: Metric units in API 616 and this supplement are included for convenient reference and shall not be interpreted as precise conversions. 1. GENERAL 1.1 ALTERNATIVE DESIGNS (Add) The Suppliers offering shall be a unit of size and design which has a successful record of proven service at operating conditions similar to those specified. In the event that no such unit is available, the Supplier may offer an alternative with a detailed explanation of where the offering differs from his field proven equipment. 1.2 CONFLICTS 1.2 (Substitute) In case of conflict between the requirements of the various documents, the following order of precedence will govern. Any conflicting requirements shall be referred to the Purchaser in writing. The Purchaser will issue confirming documentation if needed for clarification. 2. DEFINITIONS 3.55 (New) "Minimum Design Metal Temperature" is the lowest mean metal temperature (through the thickness) expected in service. Consideration shall include operation upsets, temperature of the surrounding environment, etc. 3.56 (New) The term Vendor in API 616 and the term Supplier in this specification are synonymous. 4. BASIC DESIGN 4.1 GENERAL 4.1.2 (Add) The combined performance of the turbine, auxiliaries and driven equipment shall be the responsibility of the Supplier with unit responsibility, including the following: a. b. c. Operability of all components, including the control and monitoring system. Achievement of performance and emission guarantees. Completion of torsional and lateral critical speed analyses of individual turbine, couplings and driven equipment, plus an entire train torsional analysis. For compressor drive applications, the turbine Supplier shall provide all data required by the compressor Supplier, and shall endorse the results of the torsional analysis. Should the purchaser choose to instruct a third party to conduct independent rotordynamic analyses, the Suppliers shall release all information requested by the third party subject, if necessary, to secrecy agreement.

Coordination of interface requirements for lubrication and sealing systems and all other subsystems.

4.1.11 (Revise) Insert the words unless specified otherwise at the beginning of the first sentence. (Revise) If connected to the Purchasers cooling water system, change maximum allowable working pressure from 100 psig (7.0 barg) to 150 psig (10.4 barg) and hydrotest pressure from 150 psig (10.4 barg) to 230 psig (15.7 barg). 4.2 PRESSURE CASINGS 4.2.7 (Add) Adapters and guide tubes for fiber optic inspection shall be provided by the Supplier. 4.2.12 (New) The casing shall have valved connections to be used for injection and/or drainage of liquid for online and off-line washing. Each drain shall be isolated by a flanged ball valve, be accessible and terminate at the edge of the baseplate. 4.3 COMBUSTORS AND FUEL NOZZLES 4.3.4 (Add) Primary air supply for purging idle nozzle shall be taken from turbine air compressor bleed system, where required. 4.3.7 (Substitute) Supplier shall indicate in his proposal the flexibility in the proposed combustion system by advising maximum and minimum Wobbe index limits of the combustion system. Supplier shall also advise maximum acceptable rate of change of Wobbe Index. 4.4 CASING CONNECTIONS 4.4.7 (Add) All drainage shall be through low point drains, terminated at skid edge with valves and blind flanges. 4.4.8 (New) Each auxiliary Purchasers connection shall be identified by service designation or drawing reference letter impression stamped on the connection or on a corrosion resistant metal tag attached to the connection. 4.5 ROTATING ELEMENTS 4.5.1.5 (New) Any repair on the shaft, bearing journal, probe or coupling areas requires Purchaser approval. 4.5.2.4 (New) The rotor and other major compressor components (casing diaphragms, heads, etc.) shall be demagnetized. Maximum acceptable level of residual magnetism is 5 gauss. 4.5.3.5 (New) When turbine blades are moment weighed and sequenced during assembly, the data shall be included in the Operating Manual. 4.5.4 (New) Rotor blades shall be moment balanced and all marked to allow field retrofitting of the blades without the need to rebalance the rotor. Moment balancing data shall be included in the equipment manuals. 4.7 DYNAMICS 4.7.1.2.3 (Add) Unit responsible Supplier shall also advise a range of frequencies within which the supporting foundations natural frequency may be designed. 4.9 LUBRICATION 4.9.8 (Revise) Substitute the word Supplier for purchaser.

4.9.10 (New) Atmospheric vents from the lubricating oil reservoir shall be provided with a demister. For compressor drivers, an oil mist separator system with dual redundant fans shall be provided to eliminate oil mist from the oil sump vent. The oil mist separator shall be replaceable cartridge type. 4.10 MATERIALS 4.10.1.12 (New) Materials for components in contact with gas containing hydrogen sulfide shall conform to the requirements of NACE Standard MR0175. 4.10.4.6.1 (Add) Major attachment welds (such as suction and discharge nozzle welds) to pressure casings shall be inspected by radiography, magnetic-particle, ultrasonic, or dye-penetrant methods. Unless otherwise specified, minor attachments (such as casing drains, vents, etc.) shall be inspected by magnetic particle or dye-penetrant methods. 4.11 NAMEPLATES AND ROTATIONAL ARROWS 4.11.3 (Add item m) Year of manufacture. 5. ACCESSORIES 5.2 GEARS, COUPLINGS AND GUARDS 5.2.2.3 (Add) Equipment for hydraulic assembly and disassembly shall be provided by Supplier. Mechanical drive load couplings shall be of the non-lubricated diaphragm type. 5.2.2.5 (New) Internal couplings for starters and accessories may be the Suppliers standard. The type and supplier shall be stated in the proposal. 5.3 MOUNTING PLATES 5.3.1.1 (Substitute) The gas turbine unit, as well as its starting equipment, lubrication system, and other auxiliaries, shall be furnished with a baseplate. 5.3.2.7 (Revise) Delete the words "when specified" from the second sentence. (Add) When subsoleplates are recommended by the Supplier, they shall be provided by the Supplier. 5.4 CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTATION 5.4.1.5 (Revise) Delete second sentence of this paragraph and replace with: All signals that can trip or unload the gas turbine shall utilize transmitters. Switches are not allowed. 5.4.1.9 (New) If specified, the Supplier shall state their capability to provide an on-line condition monitoring system for the gas turbine. As a minimum, the system shall be capable of: a. b. c. indicating and trending the condition of the air compressor and the turbine (efficiency and degree of fouling). assessing the gas turbine output power via torque meter, generator output, driven equipment power or equivalent method. comparing the predicted power with the calculated output power.

communication with gas turbine control system and plant DCS.

5.4.3.2 (Revise) Change 4.1.1 to 4.1.5 in the second sentence. 5.4.4.4 (Add) The vent from this valve shall be routed to a safe location with no backpressure. 5.4.4.8.3 (Revise) Change next-to-last sentence to read: "Switches or other means of defeating shutdown systems shall not be provided." 5.4.5.2 (Revise) Replace the word "may" in the first sentence with the word "shall". (Add) Start-up sequence, diagnostic and logging of operating data and, mimics of driver and driven system shall be shown in display. Suppliers controls system shall include an alarm and trip history database capable of uploading event records with time stamp to the plant DCS. 5.4.6.2 (Add) Regardless of the area classification and grouping specified in the requisition, the acoustic enclosure surrounding a gas turbine shall be regarded as a Zone 1 area in accordance with the IP code, or Class I Division 1 in accordance with the National Electrical Code NFPA 70 (latest editions, as applicable) when the ventilation system is inactive. Electrical equipment within the enclosure shall be suitable for Zone 1 area in accordance with the IP code or Class I Division 1 in accordance with the National Electrical Code (latest editions, as applicable). 5.4.7.2.2 (Substitute) The Supplier shall supply an electronic sensor, digital type tachometer for each shaft. Their range shall be from 0 to 125% of maximum continuous speed, with an accuracy of at least 0.25% over the full range. The reset range shall be six per second. 5.5 PIPING AND APPURTENANCES 5.5.3.9 (Substitute) The Supplier shall provide a system for both on-line and off-line water washing of the turbines compressor. A separate hard-piped on-line and off-line water washing system shall be provided for each gas turbine except where more than one identical gas turbines are located adjacent to each other. In this case, one skid may be specified to service up to two gas turbines with constant, hard piped connections to each. An interlock system shall be provided to positively prevent off-line washing being initiated while the turbine is running, and similarly to prevent off-line washing devices being in the wrong configuration when the turbine is started. The Supplier shall provide with his bid details of proposed water washing systems. Each skid shall include as a minimum: a. b. c. d. e. f. a stainless steel water reservoir with lagging and heating. a stainless steel detergent reservoir. venturi to deliver appropriate mixture of wash detergent into the water. motor driven pump suitable for on and off-line washing (or other acceptable method). motorized isolation valves for on and off-line washing (may be mounted on turbine skid). start, stop and valve controls and suitable protection for turbine and wash pump.

The Supplier shall provide the following wash water data with the proposal: g. h. i. j. k. l. m. total requirement per wash. wash duration. maximum flow rate. maximum total solids. maximum particle size allowed. required water chemistry. recommended wash detergent.

5.5.4.1 (Add) Unless otherwise specified in the datasheets, air inlet filters shall be of the three stage type comprising: a. b. c. d. e. Inlet : First stage: Second stage: Third stage: Downstream: Rain hood and insect screen. Weather louvers with mist eliminating coalescer, when specified. Pre-filter. High efficiency fine filter. Screen (coarse).

Where three-stage filter type is specified, the following conditions shall apply: 1. 2. Maximum air to media velocity in a high performance filter shall not exceed 9.8 ft/sec (3 m/s). The design shall permit on-line maintenance of the coalescer and pre-filters. This shall include the capability to replace the pre-filters on-line.

5.5.4.4 h (Add) The entire air intake system shall be completely leak free. Mastic sealants that dry out and fail are not acceptable. All welding on the inlet airside shall be continuous. Bolted assemblies shall use an elastomer sealant. The spacing of the bolting shall ensure that an airtight joint is achieved. 5.5.4.6 (Add) Supplier shall provide filter house support structure including hoists to lift screens, ventilation fans, motors and any other maintenance activities. 5.5.5.1.1 (Revise) Change 4.1.6 to 4.1.10. 5.5.5.2.1 (Revise) Change 4.1.6 to 4.1.10. 5.5.6.8 (Revise) Delete the words, When specified from the first sentence. 5.5.6.10 (Substitute) Emissions sampling ports in the exhaust ducting shall be provided as well as any necessary access ladders and platforming. 5.5.7.1 (Revise) Change 4.1.5 to 4.1.10 in the last sentence. 5.6.1.5 (Revise) Substitute the words Unless otherwise specified for the words When specified in the first sentence. 5.7 INSULATION, WEATHERPROOFING, FIRE PROTECTION AND ACOUSTICAL TREATMENT 5.7.1 Insulation 5.7.1.2 (Substitute for second sentence) Supplier's proposal and contract drawings shall clearly delineate insulation within his scope of supply, those parts of the installed unit requiring insulation not in his scope of supply and the values of all parameters pertinent to the proper specification of insulating materials to be furnished by others. 5.7.3 Fire Protection 5.7.3 (Modify) Delete first sentence and replace by When an enclosure is provided, Supplier shall furnish a fire protection system including all items identified in 5.7.3.1 to 5.7.3.7. 5.7.3.1 (Add) Supplier shall propose a fire suppression medium supporting his recommendation with references for the proposed system in a similar environment. A proprietary CO2/argon/nitrogen mixture of lower health hazard than pure CO2 (e.g., Inergen or FM2000) or a water mist system may be used.

Any Inergen or CO2 system shall be a scented gas and have appropriate interlocks provisions to disarm the system for entry and pre-discharge alarms. 5.7.3.3 (Add) Fire detection within the enclosure shall include primary and secondary detectors. Primary detectors shall be the combined UV/IR type. These detectors shall operate on a two out of three voting basis to reduce the chance of spurious trips. Secondary detectors shall be rate compensated thermal detectors and be redundant. Where the enclosure is divided into separate compartments, fire detectors shall be provided in all compartments. Fire detection in any compartment shall initiate fire suppression in all compartments. 5.7.3.4 (Add) Three gas sensors shall be provided at each of the following locations: a. b. c. ventilation air inlet ventilation air outlet combustion air inlet

The set point for alarm shall be at 20% of lower flammable level (LFL) and shut down at 60% of LFL. Fire suppressant release shall not be initiated on gas detection within the enclosure. 5.7.3.6 (New) The fire suppression system shall be able to provide two consecutive releases of fire suppression medium. 5.7.3.7 (New) A fire and gas control panel shall be located outside of the enclosure. All alarms shall be shown on this control panel and repeated in the main control room. Colored front panel lamps shall indicate status of the fire and gas detection system. 5.7.5 Enclosures 5.7.5.6 (Add) Two 100% AC motor driven enclosure ventilation fans shall be provided. 5.7.5.6.3 (Add) The ventilation system shall incorporate positive shut-off fire control dampers at the air inlet and outlet controlled from the fire detection system. Proper operation of these dampers shall be demonstrated during factory testing of equipment. 5.7.5.6.5 (New) Where the enclosure is divided by a heat shield, each compartment shall be provided with a separate and independent ventilation system. 5.7.5.6.6 (New) The arrangement for circulating the ventilating air within the enclosure shall prevent local overheating of components. The system shall be designed to maintain a temperature in the enclosure at or below 125oF (51.7oC) during both normal operation and trip conditions. In the event of loss of all power supplies, the Supplier shall ensure that the enclosure temperature does not exceed the safe temperature for the instrumentation or other sensitive equipment within the enclosure. 5.8 FUEL SYSTEM 5.8.1.1 (Add) The Supplier shall confirm the suitability of specified fuels for the system proposed, and shall provide evidence of his experience of burning fuels of a similar quality and composition. The permissible contaminant levels and concentrations of corrosive agents shall be agreed between the Purchaser and the Supplier, with particular reference to solids, alkali metals and total sulfur content. Where the Supplier has no operating experience with a specified fuel, a combustion test shall be quoted as an option. The test shall demonstrate satisfactory performance of the gas turbine on the contract fuel or a blend that simulates the properties of the contract fuel.

The Supplier shall state in his proposal what treatment is required for the project specified fuels. Full details of the proposed fuel systems shall be provided in the bid. 5.8.1.2.2 (Substitute) The Supplier shall advise the required minimum and maximum fuel gas pressure, and temperature limits. 5.8.1.2.4 (Substitute) When a fuel gas skid is specified by the Purchaser or recommended by the Supplier, it shall be mounted off-base and shall include as a minimum the following: a. b. c. liquid knockout drum with demister, drain with valve, level gauge and level transmitter for alarm. Twin fuel gas filters (2 X 100%) with transfer valves, filtration to be 99% efficient to 0.04 mil (1 micron) with maximum pressure drop of 7 psi (0.5 bar). Heat tracing and insulation for all piping downstream of knockout drum.

Knockout drum and fuel gas filters shall be manufactured of stainless steel. All pressure vessels (including the filters) shall be designed and manufactured per ASME VIII with code stamp. As a minimum, the fuel transfer valve shall have a carbon steel body with stainless steel plugs and plug jacking devices. 5.8.1.3.2 (Add) Piping systems for fuel gas downstream of the filters, atomizing air, steam injection or hydraulic control lines shall be austenitic stainless steel. 5.8.3.3 (Add) Liquid fuel will be supplied at a pressure and temperature and filtered to a quality as required by the Supplier. When a liquid fuel forwarding skid is specified by the Purchaser or recommended by the Supplier, it shall include two 100% pumps suitable for taking individual suction from liquid fuel supply and duplex filters with transfer valve. 6. INSPECTION, TESTING AND PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT 6.2 INSPECTION 6.2.1.1 d (Substitute) Final-assembly, maintenance and running clearances shall be kept by the Supplier for at least 20 years for examination or reproduction by the Purchaser or the Purchasers representative upon request. A copy of this information shall also be provided to the Purchaser at time of shipment. 6.3 TESTING 6.3.1.5 (Add) All test equipment shall be provided and calibrated by the Supplier. Fuel, power and consumables necessary for testing shall be provided by the Supplier. 6.3.3.1.7 (Revise) Change the word may in the first sentence to shall and delete the last sentence. 6.3.3.3.4 (Revise) Delete first sentence and replace with: Graphs showing vibration amplitudes and phase angle versus speed for acceleration and deceleration shall be made before and after a four hour run. 6.3.3.3.6 (Revise) Delete the words, "When specified," in first sentence.

6.3.3.4.2 (Substitute) Boroscope inspection of turbine internals shall be performed after any mechanical run test. When a spare rotor is supplied with the gas turbine, the cost for a mechanical run test of the spare rotor in accordance with Paragraph 6.3.3 shall be quoted as an option. 6.3.4.5 Auxiliary-Equipment Test (Substitute) Supplier's proposal shall include details of the auxiliary equipment tests included in the proposal, but shall include as a minimum the start system, control system, fire suppression system, and oil system. 6.3.4.6 (Revise) Delete the second sentence of this paragraph and replace with: Bearings that are accessible for field maintenance shall be removed, inspected and reassembled after completion of mechanical test. If a spare rotor is purchased with the unit, bearing inspection shall take place after spare rotor mechanical test and shall not be repeated after contract rotor mechanical test. Further dismantling, inspection and reassembling shall not be required unless the mechanical running test is unsatisfactory. 7. SUPPLIER'S DATA 7.1.1 (Add) Refer to KBR Purchasing Standard SDR-1MJ. 7.2 PROPOSALS 7.2.1 (Add) Change second sentence to read: "The Supplier shall complete and submit the Supplier Drawing and Data Requirements Form SDR-2." 7.2.3 (Add) p. Material of inlet and exhaust ducting. q. Details and materials of silencer construction. r. Recommended maintenance schedule. s. Expected and guaranteed reliability and availability data. t. Description of inlet filtration system. u. Expected and guaranteed noise spectrum by band and total Lp and Lw levels. v. The first and second critical speed of all rotors. w. Transport and installation information i.e., lifting weights and dimensions. x. List of recommended spare parts. y. Operation and Control Description. z. Description of any equipment modifications or special arrangements which may be required to perform mechanical running test and performance test in accordance with requirements of this specification. 7.2.4 (Revise) Delete the words, "When specified," from the last sentence. 7.3.6.3 (Add) The following data shall also be included: Recommended vibration severity limits for 'alarm' and 'shutdown'. 7.3 CONTRACT DATA 7.3.3 TECHNICAL DATA 7.3.3 (Substitute for the first sentence) Supplier Drawings and Data shall meet all requirements in KBR Purchasing Standards SDR-1MJ and SDR-2, and, API 616, Paragraph 5.3 and Appendix B.

(Add) Details of all major weld repairs and subsequent heat treatment shall be recorded and included in manufacturing data records. (Add) The supplier shall furnish all necessary load, center of gravity and dynamic data necessary for the analysis and design of the Purchasers foundation. 8. GUARANTEE AND WARRANTY (NEW) 8.1 MECHANICAL WARRANTY Refer to KBR terms and conditions. 8.2 PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE The gas turbine shall be guaranteed for satisfactory mechanical performance at startup, shutdown, all operating conditions specified on the data sheet, and the operating ranges between those points.
