TEACHING AND LEARNING PHILOSOPHY Over the course of my eleven years as a teacher, my approach to student education has shifted

from an emphasis on my teaching, to a more central focus on student learning, and finally to a more holistic realization that the two are inseparable aspects of the same whole. I would define "teaching and learning" much as I would define "communication" as a holistic process in which there is a co-creation of meaning between student and teacher. In order to accomplish this "co-creation of meaning," I will aim constantly to give students the opportunity to Set and achieve goals: I believe that students learn best when they know why are they learning what they are learning. When their experience is connected to the real world when ever is possible. I believe that it is very important for students to have a life like learning experiences and to have a reason to learn what they are learning. They will set and achieve goals. Self-reflect on their performance and the performance of the group and self assess: I believe that if students were given the opportunity to evaluate the quality of their work, based on evidence and explicit criteria, that they will become motivated for doing better work in the future. Self-reflect is a potentially powerful technique because of its impact on student performance through enhanced self-efficacy and increased intrinsic motivation which is a key component that needs to be implanted in the children of UAE. Work individually, with a partner and collaboratively and cooperatively in groups I strongly believe that we need to implant in the students the desired and needed interactions to create a school environment where learning is maximized for all. Students should build respectful and supportive relationships that can reflect on their behavior and the behavior of their peers that will exploit teaching and learning. Problem solve, experiment, create, research and implement Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) In my belief students must be given the opportunity to provide intellectual challenges that can enhance students development. Such tasksthat is, problemscan promote students conceptual understanding, foster their ability to reason and communicate, capture their interests and curiosity and develop their critical thinking. I strongly believe that in order to achieve all of this, a teacher must plan for different learning experiences that are at the students levels to meet their different needs. Negotiate aspects of the curriculum with their teachers Students must be given the chance to enhance their engagement in the learning process, to support the attainment of deeper understandings about the essential learning. They should be taught the skills, attitudes and aptitudes to inquire into their world and learn how to learn. Negotiating aspects of the curriculum empower students and foster their ability to work democratically and collaboratively and aassist them in constructing their future, which is a key feature of the 2020-2030 strategic plan for the UAE. Integrate a range of learning areas, including ICT I strongly believe that students must be given the chance to see a holistic picture of their education. Learning is better achieved when students can link what they are learning together at one end, and link it with technology in the other end. Effective technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is routine and transparent and when technology supports curricular goals. Work in a safe, secure and supportive school and classroom environment: I believe that teaching and learning activities need to occur in an environment that is supportive, caring, safe and inclusive. The students need to know that they will have many opportunities to achieve their outcomes and that on the way to achieving some outcomes they may not always initially be successful. However, with support and endeavour they will eventually reach their goals. I also believe that students should learn how to respect themselves and others and the values of the UAE as well as the traditions and those of other people As a result of implementing the above mentioned, the students will be given every opportunity to enhance their outcomes and achieve their goals.
