The mother institute GURUKUL KANGRI is more than 100 years old .Since primary idea behind foundation of Gurukul Kangri Pharmacy was not meant for business but providing the services to the people associated with GURUKUL KANGRI such as associated personnel, student and working committee of ARYA PRATINIDHI SABHA.

In last five years, the company have manufactured many new medicines such as SWARNPRABHA, MANMATHRAS, PANCHAMRIT, VIRYASTAMBHANVATI, VIRYASHODHANVATI, MADHUMEHA NASHINI GUTIKA, GURUKULA MADHU, GURUKULA DHUP etc. In this year also, 56 new products were tested and send request to AYURVEDIC DEPARTMENT OF INDIA to patent them.

These are discussed under following heads:

The different sections under the production department are as: A) BHASM VIBHAG: A wide variety of bhasms were under production some of these includes Praval, Shvang, Godanti, Abhrak etc. Some large scale instruments seen were

Pastle Mortar The instrument was used for the grinding the material into fine particles causing uniform size reduction. Roller Ball Mill It was being operated for the complete size reduction of different raw materials used in the production of bhasms.

Large balls were revolved with the material under a drum thus causing the compression and shearing action for size reduction.

B) ASAV VIBHAG: The section was equipped with large scale Fermentors, Filling machine, etc. C) BHATTI VIBHAG: The section was generally based on the application of heat. Large Distillators were being heated over bhattis with different products in them. Some of them were Brahmi and Amla .Chyawanprash production was also going through.

The department was divided under different sections as: Rail Packing section where the cartons were being sealed by a machine named joinpack. From their onwards the cartons were sent for dispatch Tablet Packing section Different vatis (tablets) were packed under this section Cap Seal Machine The caps of different liquid products which were being stored in bottles were being sealed here.

PACKING DEPARTMENT

MACHINE DEPARTMENT
A) Coating Machine : There was a standard Coating Pan
consisting of a circular metal pan mounted angularly on a stand. The pan is rotated on its horizontal axis by a motor. Coating solutions are applied by spraying onto the rotating tablet beds. Amla Vati was processed under this.

B) Pulveriser : The Pulveriser there was a disc type grinder,

designed to grind virtually any material to produce a fine mesh sample in one operation. The instrument is useful for assaying, mining and for metallurgical, quarrying, aggregate processing. It is a self contained grinder, with a rotary disc, having a planetary movement in a vertical plane.

C) Tablet Punching Machine: A hand operated tablet punching

machine was demonstrated at the time of visit.

This machine is used for tabletting different kinds of granular raw materials into round tablets. It contained a one set of punch and die. It is a bench top press unit and is semi-portable.
