Essay competition - 1
SHANKAR IAS ACADEMY is conducting an essay competition for civil service aspirants at the national level. The objective of this competition is to provide an opportunity for young minds to understand more about socio economic problems of the country and also to share their ideas on a critical issue. Theme of the Essay: 1) Sensationalism and Ethics in Media. 2) Probity in public life. 3) The planet has no plan-B for Climate change. Closing Date : 30th November, 2011 Eligibility : Open to all Civil service aspirants Prize for Winners: The winners of the essay competition will be awarded prize money as given below and their names & essays will be published in CIVILSPEDIA, the monthly current affairs magazine of Shankar IAS academy.

Submission: 1) Essay should be in English only. 2) The participants should submit the essay in a hand written format. 3) The essay should be neatly written and submitted in an envelope by hand in the office reception (18th main road ) or can be sent by post to Shankar IAS Academy Plot no : 1742, (Above Syndicate bank building) 18th main road Anna nagar, Chennai-600040 (Write viz ., ESSAY COMPETITION - 1 in the envelope cover containing the hard copy of the essay.)

Instructions: 1. The completed essay copy should reach us on or before the closing date. 2. The length of the essay should be around 1500 words. 3. Candidates are advised to submit only one entry per topic for the competition. 4. Candidates should not include or make direct reference to their identity inside the essay text, to avoid disqualification from the essay competition. Name and personal details should be there only on the title page (first page). 5. Materials copied from any source will be liable to disqualification. 6. The copyright of the essays once submitted will automatically be deemed to have been transferred to Shankar IAS Academy. 7. Page -1 should contain title page format (can be hand written also) as given below and page -2 should be left blank. Essay text should start from page -3. ( ESSAY TITLE)<page-1>
