When Bo Ya's will was towards flowing water in his playing, Zhong Ziqi would say, 'How vast are the rivers and oceans!' Whatever Bo Ya thought of Ziqi would never fail to understand. Bo Ya said, 'Amazing! Your heart and mine are the same!' When Ziqi died, Bo Ya broke the strings [of his qin] and vowed never to play [the qin] again. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Zhu Yingtai is a beautiful daughter of the Zhu family of Zhejiang. She attendes classes in disguise as a young man. During the journey to Hangzhou, she meets Liang Shanbo, a scholar from Kuaiji. They study together for the next three years and Zhu falls in love with Liang. But Liang fails to notice that his classmate is a woman. Zhu has to return home after the study. Months later after, Liang visits Zhu, he discovers that she is actually a woman. However, Zhu's parents have already arranged for her to marry a man from a rich family called Ma Wencai. Liang is heartbroken and dies later. On the day of Ma and Zhu's marriage, mysterious whirlwinds prevent the wedding procession from escorting the bride beyond Liang's grave, which lies along the journey. Zhu leaves the procession to pay her respects to Liang. Suddenly, the grave opens with a clap of thunder. Without further hesitation, Zhu throws herself into the grave to join Liang. Their spirits turn into a pair of beautiful butterflies and emerge from the grave. They fly together as a pair and are never to be separated again.

One nice clan (Five Mountain Sword Sects Alliance) and one bad clan (Sun Moon Holy Cult) attack each other. Two young people, Linghu Chong ( ) from nice clan, and Ren Yingying ( ) from the bad clan, they follow love with each other, view this fighting independently, and find out that both the bad and nice clans have the similar goal, dominating the world. Then, they begin to fight for peace, other than bad or nice, and they finally succeed. A GuQin and Xiao ensemblekung fu music, written by a Hong Kong composer HU Liwei(), based on certain traditional Chinese Buddhist music.
