Civil Partnership Explained


The Cork gay Project in Conjunction with the Parents support network present an information evening for LGBT people, parents and family members on the legal and financial implications of civil partnership. Anyone with an interest in the topic is welcome. On the 16th November at 6.30pm at Dun laoi , 8 North Mall. Tim Bracken B.L. from Cork City is a practising barrister who specialises in the areas of probate and succession. He is co-author of the recently published The Probate Handbook. Margaret Campbell is a solicitor with her own practice in Cork City Centre. She specialises in the areas of probate and succession. She is co-author of the recently published The Probate Handbook and is a regular lecturer for the Law Society.

On the 23rd of November, UCC LGBT is holding a fundraising wine reception at The Other Place on South Main Street, Cork City Centre, this will then be followed by Freakscene goes Formal for anyone who wishes to go clubbing after.

24th November 2011 6.00-8.00pm during drop-in.


Costume Think Tank

The Fantasy Ball is approaching and its time to get your outfit sorted. Come to LINC on 24th November at 6pm and find and share your ideas for costumes. Bring bits and pieces, hats, wigs, frocks, accessories etc. to put your outfit together and maybe help others out with theirs. At least five women need to sign up for this workshop to happen. Book Club

Next meeting is 6th December at 8pm. The book is The Fires of Bride by Ellen Galford. All Welcome.

MNA MNA CHOIR


Every Thursday at 8.00pm Meeting in LINC after drop-in, the choir is now back in full swing. All are welcome

Following on from the Target 1000 talks Aileen Fitzgerald An experienced psychotherapist is facilitating group sessions on Mondays at 7.30until 9.30. The group will run for six sessions before Christmas and six after. There are three places remaining in the group. Women interested in joining the group can contact emma@linc.ie or Aileen at fitzgerald.aileen@gmail.com. This Monday the23rd November is the last evening new registrations will be accepted.

Phoenix Youth Group


Phoenix meets each Wednesday here in LINC at 6pm. They have been working collaboratively with UNITE youth over in The Other Place and have now formed a joint group which is called UP. This group meets over in the Other Place each Thursday in what is now a youth caf. The caf will open at 6.30 each Thursday.

Out4dinner is a brand new dining-out group. Their second night out was held in the Jacobs on the Mall and was a greats success - with in excess of twenty people attending. The group is open to all LGBTQ people. Their next night out is Friday 2nd December- ring or email LINC or the Other Place now to confirm your place. LGBT Diversity and TENI Joint Conference: "Working Together"


Friday 2nd December The River Lee Hotel, Western Road, Cork 9:305:00pm This years conference will focus on how the LGBT sector and mainstream agencies can work together to make the principles of diversity, rights, inclusion and effective service delivery a reality at a national and regional level. This conference is an opportunity to explore good-practice in Ireland and beyond and will be a remarkable opportunity to bring key service providers, LGBT organizations and individuals together. "Working Together" is a full day conference. Further details of speakers, panelists and workshop choices to follow. Light refreshments and lunch will be served.
