Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set: The teacher will show the students his or her own created photo story about the plant cycle. The students have already begun learning about the plant cycle in previous lessons.

Detailed Teaching Sequence: (Provide sufficient detail that would enable a substitute to effectively present this lesson. Bulleted statements are preferred) After showing the students the photo story the teacher will explain that now it is their turn to create their own photo story about the plant cycle. The teacher will explain that the video must show what the plant looks like in all the different stages. The cycle must start with the seed stage and end with a plant. But, the students can each choose to show different plants and may use real pictures if they have them or find the pictures on the internet. The teacher will show the students on her computer that is projected onto the wall where they will be able to find plant pictures. The teacher will also have these sites on a print out for the students to take with them to the computer lab. Next the teacher will show the students how to take their photos that they have and put them into the photo story software. These steps also will be typed up in easy to read stages so the students can refer back to them. Once showing how to add them in a few times and having a student come up and also try. Final the teacher will ask if there are any other questions before they move into the computer lab. Guided Practice/Independent Practice/Assessment Activities The students will move into the computer lab. The teacher will walk the student into opening up the photo story software as a class. The teacher will be on their computer that is projected onto the wall so the students have a visual aid. Once all the students have the software opened. The teacher will pass out the different website paper, where the photos can be taken from. Now the students are on their own to create their own photo story. Closure: When there is only ten minutes left in the class, the teacher will ask the students to complete what they are working on. The teacher will walk the students through how to save their work. Once all students work has been saved, students will shut down their computers. The teacher will ask the students how far they got and mark down on the chart paper who completed their finding their pictures and who is still working. Students who are still finding their pictures will be asked to come in during their recess to finish their work. The teacher will explain that the next day they will add music and their voice to their photo story.
