The name Thompson/Center is a combination of two last names and represents the vision and foresight of two extremely different men, Ken Thompson who owned and operated a foundry and tool and die business and Warren Center who designed firearms and was looking to build a design of his own (the Contender pistol). These two men were able to pool their talents and to alter the destiny of many individuals - they built a company that went on to become one of the largest employers in Rochester, New Hampshire. Thompson/Center has provided many hunters and shooters with a product they can be proud of and that they can use in fostering the centuries-old traditions of hunting and recreational shooting with friends and family.

\\\\ WEATHER SHIELD T/C searched the world for the most advanced, tough as nails corrosion protection system. Weather Shield, when applied to the barrel and other critical metal parts, make the gun nearly impervious to rust. In vigorous environmental testing, Weather Shield proved 50X more corrosion resistant than stainless steel. Available on many different models throughout the T/C product line.

\\\\ INTEGRA-BASE
Solid top receiver with integral Weaver-style base provides a stable scope mounting platform that wont shoot loose. Standard on all ICON bolt action rifles.
MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) grooves are .206 .206 wide and have a center-to-center .394 width of .394. The placement of these Center to Center grooves has to be consistent in order for it to be a true Picatinny MIL-STD system. Weaver systems have a .180 width of recoil groove and are not necessarily consistent in a center-to-center measurement from one groove to the next. Picatinny grooves, which accept both Weaver-style and Picatinny rings, are standard on all ICON rifles.

\\\\ INTERLOK BEDDING SYSTEM The aluminum INTERLOK bedding block is epoxied into the stock and provides a rigid and stable platform for securing the barreled action into the stock. Standard on all the ICON rifles.
\\\\ BOLT-LOK The independent bolt lock lever secures the bolt from opening during field use. BOLT-LOK is automatically disengaged when the safety is removed. The two-position safety allows the shooter to load and unload the rifle with the safety on. Standard on all ICON models. \\\\ 60 BOLT LIFT 60-degree bolt lift is made possible by our three locking lug design - it provides greater boltto-scope clearance upon opening. Standard on ICON and T/C Venture models. \\\\ T-SLOT ExTRACTOR The bolt face of all ICON & T/C Venture rifles fully surrounds and supports the cartridge head. The T-Slot extractor provides excellent engagement with the brass cartridge rim without compromising bolt lug engagement. The push-style ejector is both simple and effective.
\\\\ THE 30TC CARTRIDGE T/C and Hornady have teamed up to create the 30TC, a cartridge designed to work perfectly with T/Cs Bolt-Action rifles. Its a .30 caliber medium action cartridge with the velocity and knock-down power of a 30-06 cartridge. Specifically designed for Thompson/Centers Bolt-Action rifles, the 30TC is quite possibly the most revolutionary cartridge ever developed. Its optimized case geometry and advanced propellants exceed 30-06 ballistics performance in a medium action case. The 30TC requires 25% less powder than a 30-06 cartridge resulting in 15% less recoil.

T-SLOT ExTRACTOR The bolt face of the T/C Venture rifles fully surrounds and supports the cartridge head. The T-Slot extractor provides excellent engagement with the brass cartridge rim without compromising bolt lug engagement. The push-style ejector is both simple and effective.

The G2 Contender rifle is a compact rifle boasting the same versatility and accuracy found with the G2 Contender pistol. It features readily interchangeable 23 barrels, enabling the shooter to select from a number of different cartridge options, from 17 HMR up to 45/70 Govt. In addition, all of the 16 and 21 barrels made for the old style Contender will readily fit the new G2 frame. The high comb on the buttstock allows the shooters eye to be in perfect alignment when using a scope. Its versatility, with regards to selecting either rimfire or centerfire barrels, makes it a multi-use rifle. Its an ideal plinker, small game and varmint rifle and is one of the lightest, hard-hitting deer rifles there is. Its at home in a trappers pack basket as it is in deer camp. As a carry gun, they dont get any better. It will become your favorite in any of the seasons. This much versatility in a 5 lb. package is hard to beat. Action: Single shot, break open design (by use of trigger guard) Barrel: Interchangeable by use of a removable barrel/ frame hinge pin. Button rifled. Drilled & tapped for T/C scope mounts. Hammer: Wide grooves in hammer spur for positive grip. Equipped with a manual firing pin selector - allowing for use of rimfire or centerfire barrels on the same frame.
